Brutal weather in large parts of Nort/North Western Europe - 800 flights were cancelled in Amsterdam the other day IIRC. There could be a few more games postponed
Moreover, just seconds ago, the governing body of German football confirmed that the Werder Bremen - Hoffenheim match also cannot take place for the same reason.
It started off well for Sands this season, but it's not going well. St. Pauli lost to Wolfsburg today and are now second from the bottom. Good news: 2 points away from being out of the bottom three. That's not deep. Bad news: the coming schedule: At Dortmund, HSV, Leipzig, at Augsburg, Stuttgart, at Leverkusen They really need to get something out of those Augsburg and HSV games. Not sure what happens to James if St. Pauli go down. Can't see St. Pauli spending the money for the option to buy on his loan from NYCFC. He's done okay, but enough for another Bundesliga team to go to NYCFC and offer up a lot of money? Don't know. I think St. Pauli will buy him if they stay up
What about St. Pauli going down but still exercising their option and then flipping him or loaning him to another BL1 side?
Could happen. But what is the value for James right now and is it higher than the purchase option? That price is apparently in the €3-4 million range. These performances from James in the coming months are really going to shape his career path. NYCFC really wants to make this work for James and they've done a lot for him. They brought him back from Rangers when that went sideways (with the intent of finding another sale/loan), they played him solely as a d-mid (at his request) to increase his value, they then extended his loan through this season after his injury last February. But I doubt they are going to take much less than the option's purchase price.

From the webz. St. Pauli and Hamburg drew 0-0 in a lacklustre derby that lifted St. Pauli off the bottom of the Bundesliga on Friday ...
Sands starts! the only match that really matters today, St Pauli (T-17th, last) hosting RB Leipzig (5th).
St. Pauli earns a late draw with a great stroke of luck as Leipzig’s left back slipped in the penalty area and completely cleaned out the St. Pauli attacker, leading to a penalty kick that was scored.
Sands went 77 minutes. He was subbed out with St. Pauli trailing 1-0. St. Pauli would then get a stoppage time equalizer through a penalty drawn and created by Martijn Kaars. Good duel numbers for Sands, drew 2 fouls. Useful point for St. Pauli as they are now one point clear of last place Heidenheim and one point behind Mainz for the relegation playoff. They are four points behind Werder Bremen for automatic safety. It's gonna be really close for Sands and St. Pauli. Their upcoming schedule is tough: at Augsburg (13) vs Stuttgart (5) at Leverkusen (6) vs Werder Bremen (15) at Hoffenheim (3) vs Eintracht Frankfurt (8) They need to try and pick off results like today against Augsburg and Werder. Those other games are tough. The way it looks, everything is going to come down to back-to-back games towards the end of the season on April 25 at Heidenheim and May 2 home against Mainz.. then two weeks later they host Wolfsburg in the season finale. Those are winnable games but St. Pauli needs to stay within striking distance by then.
I only watched the first half... Their forward, Jones, missed three golden opportunities to score. Should have put at least one of them away.
I am really pulling for James. I think he is a better player than many give them credit for. But this was not a good day for him or St Pauli. As I mentioned, their schedule is difficult right now. Augsburg was one of their more winnable games in this stretch and they couldn’t even get a draw. Then Mainz actually defeated Leipzig to sink St Pauli 4 points deep into the relegation zone.
Sands starts! St Pauli visiting Leverkusen - DFB Cup Quarterfinal. Tillman is starting for Leverkusen.
Went 90' in a 0-3 loss. Had a couple of nice defending moments, and wasn't particularly culpable on any of the goals, but does anyone ever have a "Good game" while still losing 3-0? Sofascore had him as the worst rated of the CBs in the back-3, but I think that's just the reality of being the central defender in a 3-man backline when your team is getting shellacked...
