The Diaz news is such a blow. He was the number one reason to believe that things post World Cup would be better than pre World Cup. It doesn’t seem like Jota is very close ti returning either. We can’t be relying on Bobby Firmino to start 3 games a week.
1) Carvalho will get his chance. 2) Great that Salah and Firmino didn't go to the WC 3) We may actually need to buy another forward - Jota has had injury issues every year.
Zaha? He’s available on a free in the summer. Maybe we can convince Palace to take some money for him.
Oh my, what a shocker. BM and The German team. and Damn, I was looking forward to seeing Diaz in the next game.
It really sounds like Diaz's injury was badly diagnosed / managed. Really unacceptable for a club like LFC.
Liverpool midfielder Arthur Melo expected to return from injury ahead of schedule as he nears full fitness following thigh surgery. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...lo-expected-return-injury-ahead-schedule.html
Considering our recent history, it means ' rushing him back into the squad before he is fully recovered...
Read this on Twitter re Diaz injury. Appears 2 separate injuries for Luis #Diaz. Horrible luck! Oct injury was medial (inner) knee & likely represented MCL tear. Now reportedly LCL - opposite side . NOT the fault of medical staff.
and I wonder if I had picked my lottery ticket numbers randomly 5 mins earlier would I have won - some things are simply unknowable.....
James Pearce re Bobby ... sounds mostly precautionary .... Roberto Firmino has been ruled out of Liverpool’s League Cup tie against Manchester City at the Etihad tonight due to a calf injury. The Brazil international got a kick during training earlier in the week and was sent for a scan. The results confirmed that the problem is only minor but he won’t be risked against Pep Guardiola’s side. Firmino, who has scored nine goals in all competitions so far this season, is also a doubt for the trip to Aston Villa in the Premier League on Boxing Day. The hope is that he will respond well to treatment and will be able to play some part in Liverpool’s festive schedule.
If will save us having to play him, I’d hog to admit. The Milner we see of the training ground must be a different beast from the one we generally see on the pitch.
his body is wearing out. it had to happen eventually. it's just amazing he's been able to put in so many hard miles over the past 10 years. a damn shame our injury situation has led us to rely on him so often to start in big games -- instead of him being a late sub to see games out.
