Josh Da Silva scored a great goal last weekend. After a bad injury hopefully he can play more this season. #BrentfordFC is now leveled 2-2 with an impressive goal from Josh DaSilva!⚽🥅#PremierLeague#CSport#OnlyOnCSport pic.twitter.com/0ctzjRlOp1— Csport.tv (@CSportMedia) August 7, 2022
15 players who were playing in the Pl on March 1st of this year have been nominated for thr Ballon D’Or - 3 of who are English so 20%.
Nottingham Forrest drop from 8 English starters to 6 now some of their new players have made the starting line up.
So only one team (Bournemouth) had a majority of their starting line up England eligible. Might not be many matches this season where the majority of a team’s starting line up are England eligible. And only 3 of Bournemouth’s bench was England eligible.
If we are talking potential options from the newly promoted clubs then Lewis O’Brien could be an option. Stepped up to the PL very easily.
Quality of the options is more important than the numbers. Maybe just me but the current promoted teams seem to have more options that are closer to international level quality than past promoted batches.
Three teams at the bottom have played 2 games and lost both .. goal difference of .. minus 10 !! Guess the one common factor !!
David Moyse left Everton in a bit of a mess Took over from Fergie at ManU and left them in a mess Now he’s at West Ham ..
English eligible players starting in the Premier League, total per matchday: Season 2022/2023 Matchday 1 - 75/220 = 34.1% Matchday 2 - 77/220 = 35%
Shame for Charlie Patino, who has had to go off at half-time for Blackpool against QPR. Really promising first half from Patino on his first start, but he rolled his ankle and clearly couldn’t continue after the interval.— Charles Watts (@charles_watts) August 16, 2022
As per @David_Ornstein, Man City striker Liam Delap will have his medical at Stoke this afternoon. Massive coup for Stoke, who have been up against major competition while Delap was the subject of a £15m bid from Southampton a few weeks ago. I wonder why City decided a loan to a championship team was better than trying to get a PL club to take him on loan. Talking about another City player on Loan - Taylor Harwood - Bellis got man of the match last night at Burnley v Hull.
Just the seven Portuguese starters today for their Premier League development Team. Can’t wait for them to one day actually field ten or eleven before maybe the media start to question it.
Wolves are not big enough I imagine for the press to really question it. It be more noticed in press if they quality for Europe again through as they will have to have a smaller squad as they won’t make UEFA quotas.
