There ia nothing special about Zidanes tactics. Just sit in a low block and have your quick attackers lurk on the half way line for counters. He’s making the smart move by leaving at the end of a great era if success. With CR7, Benzema and Bale aging it only makes sense. He would be seriously exposed without some all time great players.
His tactics are excellent albeit not otherworldly. It's the whole skillset that makes him stand out from the rest. Sure he has the most expensive squad ( thats ridiculously well balanced as well) in the world but he's managed to get the best out of them.
That's why there is something very very strange with this guy. Winning the Champions League 3 times consecutively, while not playing spectacularly or being utterly dominant is very very hard to believe. He's surely thinking that this can't continue forever, so he took the right decision of resigning.
Who won the league last year? Winning the treble is extremely difficult. He prioritized one over the other and it paid off. Referees still favour Real in the league though.
