Well, since GolTV has exclusive USA rights to Bundesliga matches, in which they rarely show LIVE (they get relegated to around 2:00 am ET on some nights and only the top clubs), and as a disgruntled VfL Wolfsburg supporter from the Northwest who has Dish (no GolTV due to financial differences between Dish and GolTV USA), I am forced to watch my majority (sometimes all of them) of Bundesliga matches involving VfL Wolfsburg online through the (in) convenience of an abundance of online pirate streaming sites I have bookmarked and tuning into the LIVE Sky Deutschland AG (in German, no language barrier to worry about, it doesn't bother me) coverage of the matches every week at 9:30 am ET/6:30 am PT, but, at least I can watch specifically Wolfsburg, but long yearn for Dish and GolTV USA to put aside their differences so I can enjoy my weekly matchday decaf, grilled brats ("wurst" in typical German fashion) off the George Foreman Grill and fresh bagels from the good folks at Metro Bagels here in Port Townsend, WA, while watching "Der Grun-Weisse VfL" but in the meantime, is there any other avenue I can watch the BL matches LIVE on Dish in the meantime?

Language (German or English) doesn't matter.

I can't remember the name of the channel but My Sport Germany or something like that exists on Dish. Look into that. If not, spend more money on your Internet for a faster connection and look around for HD downloads. I have not missed a Dortmund game in 3 years. But I am patient--I can go days and avoid scores.

I'll indeed look into it, but just as long as I can watch specifically VfL Wolfsburg on a regular basis (weekly at a decent time not 2:00 am on a weeknight). As for the connection, I already 7 MB DSL through CenturyLink here in Port Townsend and can get the pirate streaming sites pretty good, although it is pretty low-res, but I wish that some of the leagues would step it up and offer LIVE, official, HQ/HD matches online (i.e. from Bundesliga.de) on a subscription basis (and in either English or German), much like Major League Baseball (MLB.com) currently does with their MLB.TV service. I'm sure fans worldwide will go for that, as ESPN3 is not available on CenturyLink here in Washington and is very limited on their BL coverage.

BTW, I have only missed about 4-5 Wolfsburg matches in the past 2 years, and I am going into my 3rd consecutive season as a backer of "Der Grun-Weisse VfL" and the best and most exciting football league in Europe (that includes England), the Bundesliga. I look forward to our friendly vs. Man City on August 4th as well as the opening round of the DFB-Pokal on the weekend of August 20-22. IMMER NUR DU VfL!!! IN FELIX MAGATH WE TRUST!!!

Dish offers "German Mega" package with the following channels for $29.99 per month:

    EURONEWS (#9793)
    PROSIEBENSAT1 WELT (#9821)
    MY GERMAN TV (#9822)
    DEUTSCHE WELLE (#9823)
    MY SPORTS GERMANY (#9824)
    GERMAN KINO PLUS (#9825)

MY SPORTS GERMANY shows ALL Bundesliga and Bundesliga2 matches EVERY round. Obviously, due to kickoff times, only 5 Bundesliga matches are live (1 Friday, 2 Saturday, 2 Sunday) but the other 4 are shown within a 48 hour period. Bundesliga-2 matches are shown on delay (live if no conflict with Bundesliga) throughout the week. The channel is NOT in HD but its available a la carte for $10 per month if the other channels in the package do not interest you.

don't want to hijack thread, but have been wondering about the Bundesliga (I'm a DirecTV/GolTV subscriber) since GolTV lost La Liga. Will they give it more attention (more games/replays), or is there a chance that GolTV fades completely? Any thoughts?

The quick answer is that we don't know. It's wait and see...

The speculative/logical answer is that we can expect GOL-TV to be dropped from the Sports package and only be available on the Spanish tier (losing the English language channel all together). Longer term, its hard to see the channel existing on Bundesliga, Brazilian football and Boca/River matches. The numbers don't make sense.

Really speculative answer: there is still a chance (very small) that BeIn Sports USA takes over but that is more wishful thinking than reality at this point. Longer term, I predict BeIn Sports will own all of the current GOL-TV rights but more likely via fire-sale in a year or two rather than an outright purchase. But there is always wishful thinking...

Thanks for your insight, SA. By the way, is your calendar site down temporarily or permanently?

Makes more sense for ESPN3.com & ESPN Deportes to take over the Bundesliga and the Brazilian packages from GOLTV if necessary because ESPN Latin America already airs all those games. No extra production required. Bundesliga right run through May 2015. Brazilian rights run through December 2015.

Boca and River matches would revert back to TyC Sports USA if GOLTV were to fold. The sublicense runs through June 2014.

Dude, what happened to your website? It was my go to place, will you comeback? If not where else would you recommend me to go for my football scheduling needs?

2 Bundesliga matches are still sublicensed to ESPN3.com and ESPN Deportes each round for 34 rounds. GOLTV will keep 2 matches with the option to air the 5th match on weekends when available.

GOLTV and ESPN Deportes both treat Bundesliga and Brazilian as fillers. Neither draw enough viewers to sell targeted advertising.

Yes, if you get that channel you can watch all games live plus highlight shows. If you're into the BuLi, it's definitely a good investment.

ESPN3 is available on most ISPs, if your ISP doesn't have ESPN3, another in your area most certainly have...

Hmm, interesting cuz I have it and all the games are live: all the ones @ 930 (all 5-6) on Saturdays, then 1230 start on Saturdays. The 1-2 930 start/s on Sunday as well as the late Sunday game (1130).

You maye have an issue there but I have watched all of the BuLi live the last few years (perhaps it doesn't qualify as "live" to you because some games are going on simultaneously but the bottom line is that they are live).

    Cheers.

Well..Metro Chile..maybe i wasn't clear enough..i know you can see every game live..what i meant was that you are not going to see every game in its entirety live due to the 5-6 games simultaneously on saturday..

That's a different story. All the games, however, are shown live. ;)

I wrote MyGermanTV+ and they wrote back that they will only show the Friday game live and the Saturday morning Konferenz. It stated that they lost the rights to show the Saturday evening and Sunday games.

There is a contact link on the bottom of the page. They also have the programming for the week listed. Here is the reply I got.

    Lieber Dirk,

    danke fuer Ihre Zuschrift.
