    I mean, they did win Euro 24 with not a markedly different squad. Surely they would at least be considered near the top of favourites for that reason.

    This does not feel like the same team. Rodri is not Rodri Fabian Ruiz also isnt the same player. Olmo has not improved since. The defense has gotten weaker since then and their two x factors are recovering from heavy use muscle injuries.

    It was a fun watch

    edit: the whole tournament has been mostly positive viewing for me. I haven’t enjoyed watching Spain for twenty years now. That Dutch final was terrible, except when de jong flying kicked Alonso.
