If you dig deep enough, you'll find it's largely the same groups that are funding both.

    Indeed, including some interesting people...

There's some evidence for that as well...

Ex-Reform politician admits Russia-linked bribery charges

It's just a good job that Nigel Farage, head of reform, never met the guy...

OK, they might have met but that's their only connection.

Well unless you ask professor google's AI, 'nathan gill nigel farage speeches to european parliament'

    Which produces...

Nathan Gill and Nigel Farage delivered similar pro-Russia speeches in the European Parliament, with Gill later pleading guilty to taking bribes for pro-Russian statements. In September 2014, Gill and Farage made nearly identical statements after the annexation of Crimea, claiming the overthrow of Ukraine's "democratically elected Pro-Russian President". This similarity is highlighted in the context of Gill's 2025 bribery conviction for making pro-Kremlin statements in the Parliament, leading to scrutiny of Farage's past comments and relationship with Gill, reports Byline Times and TheNational.scot.

Clearly professor google's AI has been taken over by troublesome left-wing malcontents who hate reform and thus, Britain :)

Yes, the denial of any meaningful link between Farage and Gill seems to be focused on Gill only being Reform Wales leader for a couple of months, but ignores the two years he was leader of UKIP Wales while Farage was leader of UKIP.

Why is it that I always think an image of Farage smiling is an AI generated image?

Should we just re-name this The England Thread? Or something else that someone much funnier than I can suggest?

We're not really talking much about Brexit any more.

Yeah, that was the joke of the 'brexit election' in 2019 that Boris Johnson won. His promise that he would 'get brexit done' so we'd have an end to it when, in truth, that's the precise opposite of what it meant.

It meant we'd have to relitigate it continuously for the next few decades.

The 'promise' of brexit has not and can NEVER be fulfilled because it was always a fiction. The only difference is that, now, a new group of chancers and grifters are making the offer.

Nathan Gill, who Farage barely knows and has absolutely nothing to do with, in court for sentencing today after being convicted of taking Russian bribes.

This made some interesting points about the UK's position which are worth bearing in mind...

It's important to see things as they really are and, as that makes clear, most of the problems we HAVE got revolve around the tories and brexit.

An interesting with the tories Ken Clarke, (mostly of yesteryear), which gives a rundown on his views of modern politics and its practitioners...

I always quite liked Ken Clarke as a person, even when I disagreed with him, because he was at least a serious person, i.e., unlike the children we seem to have now.

His views on brexit and its 'issues' are also of interest to readers of this thread.

Two major stories over the past few days.
Reform's Nathan Gill jailed for taking Russian Bribes
COVID Commission confirms Boris Johnson was useless, could have prevented over 20,000 deaths, and took a four day break at the height of the pandemic.

Combined coverage of both of these on the BBC Flagship politics show, Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg - zero.

Tell me again how the BBC is biased towards the left.

There was an article in the Guardian earlier titled something like "can you do the budget better than Reeves?". I managed to not have it leaked by the OBR, so I'm leaning towards "yes".

Might I suggest that if you're accused of racism, bringing up that you agree with the most notorious British racist of the past century is probably not a good idea.
