James O'Brien can be a bit hit or miss but he absolutely nails this, and the likelihood is that Farage is still in the studio having to listen. 1836695761553133967 is not a valid tweet id
I don't remember him saying that Tate was a 'trustworthy' source. I think he came out with some mealy-mouthed crap about him being 'prominent', (y'know, like Hitler was 'prominent'), and he later said he was an 'important voice', (y'know, like Goebbels was 'important voice'), because he had a 'big following'. He also said the fact that Tate had a 'big following' showed 'how far the gap was'. He didn't really explain what 'the gap' was that he referred to but my guess is it's the gap between a decent human being and the likes of people like Nigel Farage and Andrew Tate. But I don't remember him saying Tate was 'trustworthy'. Of course, I'm getting on a bit now so maybe I did hear it and I've forgotten.
I haven't heard that. Farage DID say that he and Tate were part of a similar phenomenon', whatever the feck THAT means. https://www.theguardian.com/politic...lar-phenomenon-to-andrew-tate-among-young-men This is the thing with people like Farage. He's clever enough to NOT say things explicitly so he skirts around stuff and implies things without specifically saying them. I mean, I'd say they are part of a similar phenomenon in that they're both fascists and misogynists but he seems to want to give himself some wiggle room.
I'm sure there's photos of them meeting a few years back. Most of what Farage is saying about him now is just him trying to weasel out of using him as a source for the misinformation on the Southport attacks.
Obviously you guys know I'm a huge labour party supporter as I believe they're the best realistic choice to keep the tories out but, even I have to admit, this is... shall we say, 'sub-optimal'... https://www.theguardian.com/politic...za-sausages-gaffe-in-labour-conference-speech
Just reading about that in the grauniad... https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...ered-raid-dutch-warehouse-seize-covid-vaccine ... The former prime minister discussed plans with senior military officials in March 2021, according to an extract from his forthcoming book, Unleashed, published in the Daily Mail. Presumably 'Deranged' wasn't available as a title?
Gonna be honest here.. British conservatives are really starting to sound like US conservatives... Which sucks. ;(
It's a problem for them if they go down that route though. Some of the party are still relatively sane so pushing the entire party in that direction will cause more to turn away, and we've already got Farage/Reform occupying that space. Why go for the imitators if you can go for the real thing?
The same was said about “sane” Republicans, but the ens result was that even the “sane” ones toed the more extreme line..
In other news, a chimp in a suit (or Jonathan Gullis, to use his given name) is finding it hard to get interviews for a job as a teacher (his former profession) after being dumped out of parliament. Maybe referring to teachers as bolsheviks and commies in a speech wasn't the best preparation for this, although we can't rule out it simply being down to him being an outright moron.
Don't forget, the Tory leadership contest is still ongoing. Even the so called moderates are crazy 1840751625155011038 is not a valid tweet id I didn't think it was possible, but they're managing to make James Cleverly look competent.
what’s so disappointing is the lack of any real ideas at this conference. it’s not like the intellectual work isn’t happening elsewhere about the investment and reform the UK needs. but conservatism is trapped in a conversation with itself where the mandated answer to everything is immigration and wokism.
