Basically a lucky win. In the end, Werder should have played much more agressively. The team plays much better when the game is at a quicker place.

OK. And how many of the three points does Werder lose because the win was "lucky"???

hahah yeah. We have been unlucky against Barca, Gladbach.. and still i think we played good enough towin today. Ramelow makes a mistake and then Klasnic makes a very nice goal.

    Here we go again, Werder.

1-0 was from a penalty. Apparently it was not a foul but a dive.

2-0 resulted from a very bad Baumann pass in the midfield.

Werder are not playing badly, they dominate, but they fail to score. Sounds like Lyon all over again.

    60% ball possession Werder.

It will definately take a miracle to move on now ... We will need help from within the group and that's asking a lot.

mainz and hamburg left to fly the flag for germany in europe!

good luck, though... i think newcastle qualified from a worse position, having lost their first 3 games in the league phase... 2 wins vs udinese and a win at home vs pana could be enough...

Ach, if you win your games at home against Pana and udinese and can pull off an upset in udinese or barca then 9 points should be enough. Not impossible, complicated now, but not impossible.

Klasnic sent off just compounds the defeat, without the KK strikeforce the team struggle.

I think the priority should be to at least finish 3rd now so we can have a crack at the UEFA Cup.

what are you guys talking about?

It was a bad start but if we beat Udinese we're probably in second place.
The game was over after 8 minutes. It was badluck that the referee was such an idiot. The penalty was a joke. Klasnic yellow/red also laughable
