Only Thibaut Courtois kept more clean sheets in La Liga last season (20) than Keylor Navas (17). Keylor Navas made the most saves (141) in Europe's top five league last season. Keylor Navas had a save success rate of 87.6% in the WorldCup, more than ANY other goal keeper in the tournament (2+ games).
After the news that we're getting rid of Diego Lopez then this news couldn't have come at a better time. Welcome Keylor!
Welcome Keylor and best wishes for your success here at Real Madrid...big things are expected from you
Even shorter than Iker, we are stuck with two manlets. His saves number is impressive but he did play for Levante with a shit tier defense so you have to wonder. His handling also seems poor, way too many second chances. Still better than Iker though but Diego Lopez is better than both and he is leaving. Stupid move.
Welcome Keylor Navas to the best club in the world . Very happy with the signing , not a flashy signing but hopefully going to be a vital cog for years to come .
Hmmmm.... He's a good GK. Although I rate Courtois, Neuer and De Gea ahead of him. I don't like how we've handled this GK situation but I guess it was destined to get messy. The club did well to sign him now rather than prying him away from a bigger club spending a bigger fee next summer. Don't think he's been training with Levante so he's probably not ready for the Supercopa. And Carlo is probably giving iker one more chance to get his shit together. Overall meh signing. I'm still holding out hope for Courtois or De Gea next summer.
Can't say since Levante is a really defensive team, so he always had to make long passes last season.
Don't look at the number of shots he faced but rather the percentage of those shots he managed to save. 80.1%. Better than all the other keeper sin La Liga. He concedes a goal at the rate of each 4,1 shots. Valdes is at 3,2 shots. Courtois at every 2,9.
The timing of this announcement is interesting. I guess we saw we couldn't wait any longer after seeing Casillas performance. Would not mind at all if he is starting against Sevilla.
Welcome Keylor! He might not have height on his side but he is a very dedicated player. His training videos are insane. Oh and I see him taking the #1 spot this season. If he isn't chosen from the beginning.
Don't know what to say about this signing. He is clearly a quality keeper and better than our current options....but it takes some time before the GK and defense act like one unit...the juggling of goalkeepers like last season might hurt him. So for his sake and ours, I hope he fits in quickly. Welcome Navas!
Would it suprise me? No. We've all seen how the better keeper was forced out and the worse one was awarded with the Super Cup despite being absolute dogshit. Keylor is no doubt better than Casillas, and him having to sit on the bench would be criminal.
