ANFP maneja revitalizada opción para que la selección juegue en Haití

El presidente del organismo, Harold Mayne-Nicholls, sostuvo que el viaje del combinado nacional de proyección a ese país podría concertarse en las próximas horas.

La selección chilena de proyección, que enfrentará en dos amistoso a Cuba, podría sumar un nuevo rival si se concreta este miércoles la realización de un partido frente a Haití en ese país, según comentó el presidente de la ANFP, Harold Mayne-Nicholls.

"Hay una posibilidad de ir a Haití, en un proyecto que estamos manejando. Para el 16 de mayo es bien difícil, pero estamos viendo la posibilidad de arrendar un avión para que nos lleve y le dé seguridad a esta selección de proyección y a la selección sub 20 femenina", dijo el dirigente.

"Todo depende que arrendemos un avión que tenga la seguridad necesaria para aterrizar y salir de allá sin correr ningún tipo de riegos. Si no es así el partido se pospondrá. Esto responde al interés nuestro de ir a cooperar a un país que ha tenido graves problemas sociales", agregó.

Al ANFP había descartado la opción de ir a Haití hace algunas semanas, pero la opción tomó nuevos bríos en las últimas horas.

Mayne-Nicholls también reiteró su deseo de conversar con David Pizarro sobre su automarginación de la selección chilena.

"Lo he dicho... cuando tenga la oportunidad hablaré con David Pizarro. Creo que es una obligación nuestra y no lo digo para que vuelva o no a la selección, sino porque el futbolista nacional de mejor rendimiento se niega a jugar por su país y los niños que escuchan eso y cuando algún día tengan ese rendimiento crean que pueden elegir si jugar o no por Chile", indicó.

"Creo que uno nunca puede elegir, tiene la obligación moral de defender a su país en aquellos dones que le dio la naturaleza, como es jugar bien al fútbol en el caso de David", completó. (Cooperativa.cl)

Here, it says Chile will play Cuba on 9th May in Osorno and 16th May in Temuco.

Looks like a new date is required.

 

That says nothing about the potential Haiti game, though.
I wouldn't say it's definitely off yet.

I cannot confirm but I heard the same thing on Haitian Radio this morning ...

The game against Venuzuela on May 23th has been cancelled ... Haiti is playing Chile instead on May 23th ..

 

I heard that Jean Jacques Pierre from Nantes might sign with Premiership team Manchester City. Anyone else hear that?

 

Yeah i heard that too. I think playing in La Liga would be better for JJP since it's alot more physical and less about finesse & style in the Premier League which explains why u don't see alot of Brazilians playing in England.

 

And Fabrice Noel to sign with Nantes(France) this week.

I heard this news on Haiti Radio Caraibes this morning and Jean Jacques Pierre that plays in FC Nantes confirm it also that Fabrice Noel is going to sign a contract with FC Nantes this Tuesdays or Wednesday .. .

Another Rumour Flying on Haiti Radio Caraibes is the Fact that Jean Jacques Pierre of FC Nantes (France) is been courted by English Premier League team (Manchester City) ... Just a rumour for Now ..

 

Thanks Bana. I wonder where these guys take these rumours from. It would be good for Fabrice to sign with Nantes even if they are going to Ligue 2. He hasn't played for a whle now and I wonder if they'll call him for the Gold Cup. There are so many players that are saying they are Haitian now that we are going to the gold Cup, it's ridiculous. I hope it's for the right reasons.

It would also be wonderful to have Jean-Jacques Pierre in the EPL next year. I think he would fit in good because he plays very physical. even though the pace of the game is very high and different from france. Let's see.

 

Fabrice is back to Florida yesterday morning and will travel to Haiti on 20th for the Chili game in Haiti.

Nantes wants him to come back to France with his agent.

 

So, Papito, you must know him personally. I hope he makes it and even if they are in Ligue 2, he stays there. Nantes is a big name in France and hopefully they can be promoted quickly next year. Last time I saw Fabrice @ a game, he came on the sidelines and I actually told him that in 2-3 years, he would be in Europe (I don't know him personally, I just said it to him). He was still playing for Colorado back then. I really hope it comes true.

Mayne-Nicholls confirmó amistoso de Chile ante Haití para el 23 de mayo

El presidente de la ANFP anunció oficialmente que el equipo nacional se presentará junto a la selección femenina sub 20 en la ciudad de Puerto Príncipe para jugar contra los locales.

Luego de la victoria de Chile ante Cuba por 2-0, la preparación de la selección nacional para la próxima Copa América de Venezuela continuará el miércoles 23 de mayo enfrentando a la selección de Haití en la ciudad de Puerto Príncipe, según lo confirmó el presidente de la Asociación Nacional de Fútbol Profesional (ANFP), Harold Mayne-Nicholls.

"El partido con Haití se juega el día miércoles 23 de mayo en Puerto Príncipe a las cinco de la tarde (17:00 horas) de nuestro país", sostuvo Mayne Nicholls en el Estadio "Germán Becker" de Temuco, donde presenció el duelo del equipo nacional ante el cuadro isleño.

"Será una reunión doble. Es un tema social y deportivo, ya que llevamos a nuestra selección femenina sub 20 que se va a presentar ante su similar de Haití y posteriormente el equipo adulto, el que jugó hoy (miércoles) o el que estime conveniente llevar Nelson Acosta, ante el representante de Haití", indicó.

Consultado sobre el motivo de la visita a Haití, teniendo en cuenta los problemas sociales que aquejan a ese país, el timonel del fútbol nacional manifestó que la idea es que el "equipo de todos" lleve un poco de alegría a los chilenos residentes.

"En un partido que servirá para darle un poco de satisfacción a la gente nuestra que está luchando por la paz, en un país que está muy convulsionado y que ha logrado salir adelante luego de situaciones tan difíciles", sostuvo.

Por su parte, el técnico Nelson Acosta manifestó que espera llevar a la mejor selección para este nuevo desafío internacional.

"Nos vamos en un charter el 22, jugamos el 23 y regresamos el 24, así que algunos chicos que participaron en estos amistosos van a estar. Sumaremos a otros de equipos de Santiago, mientras no haya problemas con las fechas del campeonato nacional", indicó.

Mayne-Nicholls, en tanto, recalcó que la iniciativa de organizar la Copa América del 2011 es una buena opción en todo sentido para nuestro país.

"Necesitamos mejores estadios si queremos hacer grandes eventos. Creo que vamos por el camino correcto, ya que si traemos grandes eventos, traemos inversiones, creamos una mejor infraestructura, le damos un beneficio a la gente ya que ellos disfrutarían de la Copa América", indicó.

"Yo creo que la Presidenta ha dado un ejemplo porque realmente se la ha jugado por una causa que es la de mejorar nuestra infraestructura a través de eventos y eso es muy satisfactorio", puntualizó. (Cooperativa.cl)
