The problem is with the CFU: the geniuses out in Antigua and Barbuda have left their website for dead, so we're all left trying to figure things out as we go. But CONCACAF's press release states that we're in the same group, and they're the most authoritative source there is on the subject.
Unless CONCACAF intervened and switched up the groups, though, this one is on CFU President Gordon Derrick. Add in the CFU's shambolic organization of the last Club Champions Cup - Alpha United getting eliminated based on a "best second-place" tiebreaker that was never spelled out beforehand (I say that fully aware that the two Haitian clubs benefited from the CFU's capriciousness) and the CCL spots being restricted to "professional" teams with no explanation of the criteria involved - and the dead website (the competitions tab has nothing beyond last year), and frankly the new administration's incompetence speaks for itself. After the Guyanese, the Haitians and now the Dominicans got screwed over, I can only hope that enough people get upset to pressure the CFU to run their tournaments properly and transparently like a big-boy organization.
Aaaaaand the CFU doubled down on their arbitrary decision. The only mitigating factor in all this is that Derrick deliberately turned his own country's group into the Group of Death. Back to Haiti for a moment: here is our schedule. Haiti to visit Chile on January 19. In Chile's case, considering it's not a FIFA date, the squad will be comprised strictly of home-based players: I would presume that Haiti would have to do the same? Any thoughts? Also, I don't know if Concepción has a large Haitian population but in general the number of Haitians in Chile has been growing the last few years, so I would not be surprised if a decent number show up to the game. http://www.latercera.com/noticia/de...r-de-jorge-sampaoli-al-mando-de-la-roja.shtml
Correct. Does anybody have an idea as to what players Haiti would probably use for this game? Considering it would probably be mostly home-based.
Hi. The game will be played this Saturday. Has Haiti announced its squad yet? I looked on haitiwebs and didn't find anything. Thanks in advance for any info.
The best place to get that information would be here, at least until Haiti Soccer's Facebook page (of the same name) puts out an official announcement.
Just seen yee are ranked above Ireland in FIFA's rankings, well done, One of your internationals is playing for Irish league winners Sligo Rovers, Pascal Millan, Seems good alright but not the best player in that team, im guessing he doesnt get many games for Haiti?
Relatively new to the Set-up, but now that he has some international pedigree he'll go from useless sub, to possible starter. I met him before in person.. nice guy.
Mar Collat is the new coach http://www.ashaps.com/sports/football/2769-un-trio-francais-au-chevet-du-foot-haitien-
