    By the summer, we will have maybe 2 new keepers in camp. Steward Ceus, the 6"6 Colorado Rapids on loan to Charlotte Eagles and maybe Johnny Placide of le Havre in french 2nd and the French U23 Team. It is not confirmed yet but Placide is thinking of joining the senior team.

    The Federation is trying to build a very strong senior team with the objective of climbing in the Fifa ranking to 50.

    Pierre is still with FC Nantes in France. Since last year, he had some problems with the Federation, so he refused to come to play . But things are getting ok now.

    He says he wants to come back. I think he will be in some of the the friendlies to be played during this year.

    May move to AS Monaco.

    why is Bruny still back there??

    and I think you have a lot of options to play around with here. I expect the line-up to be a toss up in the last second.

    No peterson? :(

    Nobody knows why Bruny is still there. Every time, he says he is retired, the very nex time, he is there.

    Peterson gets his wrist broken in his lat game with SC Braga reserve, so he can't come anymore.

    Guy Lacombe , the coach of Monaco, wanted him during the January winter

    transfer but FC Nantes asked for too much money. They asked for 3 millions , Monaco offered 1.5. So, i don't know how it will be for the coming season and if they are still interested.
    Pierre still has 1 year and half contract left wih FC Nantes.

    Independiente Rivadavia Coach says, the club needs Aveska, he will not give him for the friendly.

    “Me alegra que lo citen a la selección pero creo que hoy es más importante que se quede con nosotros que juegue para la selección de Haití”, finalizó el ex defensor aclarando la situación de Judelín Aveska, quien no aceptó la convocatoria para jugar el amistoso en Cutral Có la semana que viene"

    According to this Haiti Press Network article ( http://www.haitipressnetwork.com/news.cfm?articleID=14034 ), Aveska and Cadet are both on the list of players called up for the game. Then again, it's from yesterday, and I have no idea as to how accurate the information is.

    But I'm glad that they called up Marcelin (Portland Timbers) and Alexandre (Real Salt Lake) for the game, while leaving Leonel St. Preux behind. And of course, Fabrice is unavailable mainly because he's on the other side of the world.

    And for anyone planning on watching the game in the US, I've found out that it will be on ESPN Deportes, and should be available on espn360 / ESPN3 (online) as well.

    I know this game is against Argentina and all, but I'm still concerned that this team doesn't seem to have a collective idea of what to do when they get the ball. Hopefully that gets worked on before the Caribbean Cup qualifiers...

    Vitoria Guimaraes wants Jean Sony Alcenat

    I got a question about Haïti: When a player has a French passport but his birthplace is in Haïti, can he play for the national team, please explain? And is it correct that Haïti does not allow dual citizenship?

    Yes, a player with French and/or any other foreign passport can play for Haiti if he or at least one parent was born in Haiti and if he has never played for the senior national team of his birth or adopted country. That is true for all countries, not just Haiti. It's FIFA's rule.

    Haiti used to allow dual citizenship but after Prussia (now Germany) threatened to destroy Port-au-Prince and forced the country to pay millions for a domestic incident that involved a Haitian-Prussian who got arrested for sheltering a criminal. Incidents like that were often used by US and European powers to constantly destabilize the country. The Prussian episode was the last straw and Haiti revoked dual citizenship thereafter.

    The world has changed and Haiti is no longer the prime target for power play. Thus, given the great number of Haitians living overseas, their purchasing power, and their higher level of education, talks to reintroduce dual citizenship have been initiated in senate. It's likely that it will pass.

    Thus, expect Haiti to allow dual citizenship pretty soon.

    But, to go back to the primary question, your citizenship status does not disqualify you from playing for your country of origine.

    Could you show me a document (http://www.fifa.com/aboutfifa/documentlibrary/index.html) or maybe a news article where this rule is explained which you refer?

    The first principle from the FIFA statue about the eligibility to play for representative teams says you need a "permanent nationality", does this not refer to a passport?

    15 Principle
    1. Any person holding a permanent nationality that is not dependent on
    residence in a certain country is eligible to play for the representative teams of
    the Association of that country.
    2. With the exception of the conditions specifi ed in article 18 below, any Player
    who has already participated in a match (either in full or in part) in an official
    competition of any category or any type of football for one Association may not
    play an international match for a representative team of another Association.

    16 Nationality entitling players to represent more than one Association
    1. A Player who, under the terms of art. 15, is eligible to represent more than
    one Association on account of his nationality, may play in an international
    match for one of these Associations only if, in addition to having the relevant
    nationality, he fulfi ls at least one of the following conditions:
    (a) He was born on the territory of the relevant Association;
    (b) His biological mother or biological father was born on the territory of
    the relevant Association;
    (c) His grandmother or grandfather was born on the territory of the
    relevant Association;
    (d) He has lived continuously on the territory of the relevant Association
    for at least two years.

    All the foreign players who represent Haiti were either born in Haiti , left Haiti very young or their parents or grand parents themselves were born in Haiti.

    I sort of understand your confusion. It's in fact your interpretation of the rule that confuses you.

    Here is how to read it: you may play for your country of nationality. That's the primary criterion. But, "in addition to that criterion", you may also play be qualified to play for another country using either of these other criteria....(your points a to d).

    That's how it's understood everywhere in the world.
