I noticed some sites saying a former NCAA player named Mauro Bravo, now apparently in Greece, is American. That's probably wrong and I think he is "only" Spanish.

 

Playmakerstats says Luke Pires, an '07 at Atletico Mineiro in Brazil, is American.

Yeah, dunno. Found an interesting feature about him that you'd think would've mentioned an American parent or other connection and didn't. T'Markt isn't the worst offender in terms of misidentifying guys but it does happen.

I don't really know who this might be. Certainly, in years past, people with this name have managed to find fame and success in their chosen endeavors.

T'Markt says a player named Abdoul Abonsso at an Austrian lower-division club is American. He might be, but it might also be that he or someone with that name played with an American club and the database folks just made the jump. I've also seen pages referencing a player with this name at various other clubs around Europe.
