Given it’s some random user on Twitter take it worth a grain of salt but I still thought it was worth posting here, apparently lived in New York for some time. I wasn’t able to find much information online but maybe someone here will be able to uncover something

Edit: Some social media sleuthing shows that he follows the USMNT Pulisic and Dest, as well as there being some photos on him in a New York Yankees hat. If that means anything

 

An Instagram post by his mother calls him and his younger brother American.

 

Ajax U18 winger David Voute is American, according to a direct family member associated with his social media. He was apparently born in New York.

Venezia only lists Poland on his player page.

The interesting thing is that TM only lists him as American, not as a dual. He's only 16.

Giuseppe Gentile is listed in his bio as
"Former Professional Football Player & Founding Partner Of @chynsports". Gentile is dual Yank/Swiss (among others) who last played in Switzerland (and strangely doesn't seem to have a YA thread), but not at the same clubs as Zali.

But according to TM, CHYN isn't Zali's agency and he isn't listed there. So it's not his agent chiming in...

Thoughts?

From what I have found he was born in Germany to a New York-born father and a German mother.

TM says he is dual US/Albanian, born in Albania.

The only info I can find about him has him playing at Milton Academy, a private school in Mass. It is one of those schools that often have foreign students, especially athletes, so there's no immediate connection to the US long term.

TM lists him with various Albanian academies going back to 2019, some of that while he was at Milton. I think he graduated in the Spring of 2022. Going back to Albania for academy play doesn't make sense if his family is based in the US (not that they couldn't be dual citizens living in Albania now).

 

My gut says no, but @TheFalseNine has been chatting with these kinds of folks on Twitter, so he might know.

Are y'all already tracking Andreas Christodoulou? Not a name I've noticed on here before and I couldn't get the search tool to generate any mentions of him. Wikipedia has his place of birth as New Jersey. He's started twice this season for Champions / Europa League regulars APOEL and has one cap with the Cypriot national team. Looks like he's been a regular starter previously for other teams in Cyprus and he's still only 25 which is young in goalkeeper years.

I also haven't noticed that name here but definitely and interesting one for sure. Seems like he was cap-tied to Cyprus in a Nations League game against Northern Ireland. Transfermarkt also lists him as born in NJ but the official APOEL site lists his birthplace as Nicosia, Cyrprus.

 

He has been playing in Divional D back in Uruguay for Centro Atletico Lito. He had a trial with Chicago Fire II back in March. I have confirmation that he has a USA passport.
