https://www.transfermarkt.us/david-voute/profil/spieler/891853 A Twitter user is claiming he’s spoken to the father of this 2005 Ajax youth player and is saying he has an American passport. Given it’s some random user on Twitter take it worth a grain of salt but I still thought it was worth posting here, apparently lived in New York for some time. I wasn’t able to find much information online but maybe someone here will be able to uncover something Edit: Some social media sleuthing shows that he follows the USMNT Pulisic and Dest, as well as there being some photos on him in a New York Yankees hat. If that means anything
Ajax U18 winger David Voute is American, according to a direct family member associated with his social media. He was apparently born in New York. Thanks to @ProspectsUsmnt for the original spot. https://t.co/Ps8ILYCxEP— ChuckMe92 Soccer (@ChuckMe92Soccer) September 16, 2022
Another one from Micah W. New American abroad! Leander Hoppenheit is a 16 year old GK, currently with Preußen Münster. The first team is currently in the 4th tier, but the U17s are in the top youth level of the area, playing Dortmund, Schalke, etc. The 🇩🇪🇺🇸 has 4 starts this season, holding 1 clean sheet.— micah w (@micahw1718) September 16, 2022 Leander Hoppenheit I can't find any confirmation of US-connection other than an entry on TM.
Another possible Yank at Venezia? Eryk Slowikowski, GK Eryk Słowikowski joins Venezia Primavera 🇮🇹The 17-year-old goalkeeper arrives from FC Wrocław AcademyIn May he was on trial at FC Vizela from Portugal pic.twitter.com/9gfz6TMUJd— Polski Transfers (@polskitransfers) August 11, 2022 TM says he was born in Chicago. Venezia only lists Poland on his player page. He did have some kind of tryout with NYRB: https://www.facebook.com/fcwroclawa...eN0LWDG8h593-VJpvqvdFsL-4UEbKycw3FL0jHiWPyGPQ
Been trying to run this down for a while and haven't been able. Poland-based players usually have informative profile pages on 90minut, which I consider authoritative, but he doesn't seem to for whatever reason.
Well, the good news is that he's now at Venezia where any sign of Yank-ness will be disclosed forthwith.
Another one: Charly Wilkening New American abroad! Charly Wilkening is a 16 year old midfielder with FC Basel in Switzerland. He played his first game for the U17s on the 3rd against Young Boys.— micah w (@micahw1718) September 16, 2022 The interesting thing is that TM only lists him as American, not as a dual. He's only 16. https://www.transfermarkt.us/charly-wilkening/profil/spieler/1061041
Another one in Switzerland with an unusual source: Timothie Zali is also Swiss/American 🇺🇸🇨🇭— Giuseppe Gentile (@Giussi92) September 18, 2022 Listed by the club as TIMOTHIE VINSON ZALI and only listed as Swiss: https://www.sfl.ch/spieler/spielerdetail/timothie-zali-2502/#tab-chart-statistics-1 Giuseppe Gentile is listed in his bio as "Former Professional Football Player & Founding Partner Of @chynsports". Gentile is dual Yank/Swiss (among others) who last played in Switzerland (and strangely doesn't seem to have a YA thread), but not at the same clubs as Zali. But according to TM, CHYN isn't Zali's agency and he isn't listed there. So it's not his agent chiming in... Thoughts?
It looks like this guy Pedro Araujo, with lower-division Romanian club Olimpia Satu Mare: https://i0.wp.com/fcolimpia.ro/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/IMG_1120.jpg?w=1024&ssl=1[/img[ https://fcolimpia.ro/team/pedro-araujo/ Is this guy, who I think would've finished HS (in Mass.) in 2020: https://www.metrowestdailynews.com/story/sports/high-school/2019/11/23/just-couldn-x2019-t/2225307007/ https://twitter.com/HawkNationAD/status/1571285321064611840 There are a couple highlight videos out there that give him as an 2000 YOB, but he might "only" be Brazilian.
Nathaniel "Nene" Brown (2003 / Left back / 1.FC Nuremberg) From what I have found he was born in Germany to a New York-born father and a German mother. (I haven't been able to find any publicly available confirmation of this, but here's his IG with the USA emoji in the bio) https://www.instagram.com/nene.brown27/?hl=en He signed a pro contract with Nuremberg in June 2022 and has been an unused substitute for five 2. Bundesliga matches this season and is a regular for their second team. https://www.fcn.de/news/artikel/nathaniel-brown-unterschreibt-profi-vertrag/ Transfermarkt https://www.transfermarkt.us/nathan...ler/691892/saison/2022/wettbewerb/L2/verein/4
Haven't really looked into this, so figured I might as well just post it here in the meantime. Former Teddy Soccer ⚽️ player Javier Elenes-Torres started his 1-year professional contract with Poletenico FC in Mexico this week. Another one from Micah W & TM: New American abroad! 🇦🇱🇺🇸 Boid Nako is a 17 year old midfielder currently with top Albanian club FK Partizani's U21 side. He is currently an Albanian U19 international, also turning out for the national U18 side.— micah w (@micahw1718) October 2, 2022 Boid Nako TM profile: https://www.transfermarkt.us/boid-nako/profil/spieler/916756 TM says he is dual US/Albanian, born in Albania. The only info I can find about him has him playing at Milton Academy, a private school in Mass. It is one of those schools that often have foreign students, especially athletes, so there's no immediate connection to the US long term. TM lists him with various Albanian academies going back to 2019, some of that while he was at Milton. I think he graduated in the Spring of 2022. Going back to Albania for academy play doesn't make sense if his family is based in the US (not that they couldn't be dual citizens living in Albania now).
An "Akin Ayodele" who appeared for Kickers Emden a few days ago appears to be a Houston-area guy named Adeyemi Ayodele who is probably American but I haven't seen it clearly posted anywhere. Was recently in the lower U.S. divisions. https://www.npsl.com/18735/ In the aforementioned match he both played with at least one other Yank (Adeniran) and against one other Yank (Vinberg).
A while ago I reached out to what appeared to be a contact for his camp, and the email bounced, but then I got a response anyway (that didn't answer any questions) and so I responded to that and it bounced and I just kind of let it go. Glad you were able to learn more...
My gut says no, but @TheFalseNine has been chatting with these kinds of folks on Twitter, so he might know.
Soccerway says a guy named Max Angelides playing in England is American. That might be correct, but it also be a case of "spent some time in the U.S. so he gets the flag." May have been born in England. https://us.soccerway.com/players/max-emilios-angelides/501234/ https://www.alvechurchfc.club/teams/27463/player/max-angelides-2929154 https://radfordathletics.com/sports/mens-soccer/roster/max-emilios-angelides/7154
Born in 1999 in Solihull South to a Cypriot father and an American mother (possibly born in Hong Kong.) Came to the US in 2014 to attend IMG
This fellow David Saavedra's IG indicates that he's a Salvadoran-American at a Spanish club called Fuenlabrada. https://www.instagram.com/p/Cjdz0o2IN1b/ There are some breadcrumbs indicating past experience in the setup at Rayo Vallecano. https://www.instagram.com/p/Ccth_U_Lt2L/ Still trying to piece it all together; there's another player with a similar name who is a GK, it appears.
T'Markt says a player named Jalen Miller Blesa is part-American and based in Kosovo. His agency seems to think he's English and Spanish. https://www.transfermarkt.de/jalen-blesa/profil/spieler/973249 https://www.instagram.com/p/ChCjUxdDqY8/
This video seems to be him and also calls him American. But I haven't been able to confirm his recent whereabouts.
Are y'all already tracking Andreas Christodoulou? Not a name I've noticed on here before and I couldn't get the search tool to generate any mentions of him. Wikipedia has his place of birth as New Jersey. He's started twice this season for Champions / Europa League regulars APOEL and has one cap with the Cypriot national team. Looks like he's been a regular starter previously for other teams in Cyprus and he's still only 25 which is young in goalkeeper years. https://www.transfermarkt.us/andreas-christodoulou/profil/spieler/246557
I also haven't noticed that name here but definitely and interesting one for sure. Seems like he was cap-tied to Cyprus in a Nations League game against Northern Ireland. Transfermarkt also lists him as born in NJ but the official APOEL site lists his birthplace as Nicosia, Cyrprus.
He has been playing in Divional D back in Uruguay for Centro Atletico Lito. He had a trial with Chicago Fire II back in March. I have confirmation that he has a USA passport.
