Transfermarkt says a '95 at Mainz named Marcel Costly is German-American. German-born, it appears. The club has him at the second team. https://www.mainz05.de/nachwuchs/u23/mannschaft/ https://www.transfermarkt.com/marcel-costly/profil/spieler/274274
To close the door in this thread on Jesus Sahagun, he was apparently indeed with Malaga in Spain until very recently. He's now gone back to Weston FC. Jesus Sahagun (back) to Weston FC (from Malaga CF)— Joey (@USAprospects) September 1, 2017
Transfermarkt says a '98 named Andrei Suciu is a Romanian-born dual citizen currently in Romania with Balotesti. I haven't been able to confirm a number of things, including his current club. https://www.transfermarkt.com/andrei-suciu/profil/spieler/322048 It appears he spent at least some of his life in the Chicago area. http://www.romaniantimes.com/index....-o-tanara-speranta-a-fotbalului-romanesc.html His father, Ilie Suciu, seems to be a Chicago-area youth coach who may also have been a pro player.
I have identified a player that I was not aware of in Iceland. Shane Haley. The team has him as an American, and there was a Shane Haley at UVM, who left earlier this year. There are also other Shane Haley's out there that play different sports (Google) and as his team Throttur Vogar play in Iceland's 3rd division there is little info out there. Can anyone confirm that this is the Shane Haley from UVM????? Note: For those that follow young Americans with 'obscure teams' Throttur Vogar have been promoted from the 3rd to the 2nd division next season.
Here's the club announcement: http://www.vf.is/ithrottir/tveir-nyir-leikmenn-til-throttar/78388 But this arrival photo on the team Facebook page was liked by one “Shane Haley” whose Facebook friends include a lot of UVM graduates. I think you have found your man.
The first sentence translates to: Two players have joined Men's Soccer Team, which are Shane Haley from the United States and Nduka Kemjika from England. Kemjika evidently also played college ball. http://www.twcbulldogs.com/roster/11/6/2446.php
FuPa says Club Italia (Germany) '91 Liam Kelly is American. https://www.fupa.net/spieler/liam-james-kelly-987896.html It looks like he's a Canadian-born (former CYNT player) guy who played college and club ball in the States. Could be an error, or he could be a dual citizen. http://usfdons.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=2327 https://www.mlssoccer.com/players/liam-kelly
Interestingly, he scored his first league goal last weekend - giving his team the point it needed to be promoted to 2 Division (They won 5 - 0)
Throttur V has completed its season and are Promoted to Iceland's 2nd Division - So we will hopefully be tracking Shane next season (I will create a forum for him)
A young man named Jonathan Hernandez from Eastlake HS in El Paso appears to have appeared as a substitute in an Oct. 4 friendly between Juarez (his team) and Necaxa. I don't know much else about him. But perhaps one to watch out for. Minuto 65 cambio de Bravos entra Johnny Hernández— FC Juárez (@fcjuarezoficial) October 5, 2017 First pro contract, beyond blessed. ❤️ pic.twitter.com/eX25GJvefM— Jonathan Hernandez (@_jonyamaya10) August 15, 2017 EDIT: Thanks for the correx, @BostonRed. Made some tweaks. I guess I had the former U20 Gonzalez on the brain.
I haven't really had time to dig into this, but this page: https://www.thefinalball.com/search_player.php?nac=127&op=all ... allows you dig into the database of the zerozero, fussballzz, and other related sites for American player leads. I would suggest going to lower right to filter further by age, gender, whatever else. You can also pick the country of the specific team they play or played for. Have fun!
An American GK named Colan Balkwell was at England's Chelmsford City last season, but I'm not sure where he might be playing now, if anywhere. http://www.chelmsfordcityfc.com/teams/62438/player/colan-balkwell-1724062 https://www.thenonleaguefootballpap...o/19451/chelmsford-lose-theophanous-two-more/ Played collegiately at St. Rose. http://www.gogoldenknights.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=3219
@CreightonMCFCjoey, you had previously listed on your website (which seems to be missing the database it previously had) Alejandro Iturbe '03 GK at Atletico Madrid. Was he just on a watch list for you or do you know that he's eligible? From what I've been reading, he's the starting keeper for their Cadete B side, and is rather good. Could be a potential call up for the '03 age group.
dont know if it has been talked about before but do you guys know if Vuctor guzman is Mex/Ame? the reqson i ask is because his nickname is Pocho wich is a nick named commonly given to mexican americans. he currently has 7 golas for Pachuca
Harry Hamblin a '99 DM at Southampton has played 90 minutes every match for their U-18's this season (also played 90 almost every match last season), and 10 minutes in one U-23 match recently. We still don't know if he's eligible for the USA. I'd like to think US Soccer has looked into this, and if he is eligible, they are going to watch him play, and see if he's good enough for a YNT cap.
I've been alerted by a source that says '01 Jeremiah Kateleiner, on Karlsrusher SC U17s, is a German-American. He's made 8 appearances so far for the U17s. I've not been able to corroborate this info across other outlets. He's at least one to look out for. Here's his FuPa page: https://www.fupa.net/spieler/jeremiah-kateleiner-999702.html
As a heads-up -- I wondered why the only Google result was the FuPa page and it's because his last name, according to the club, is "Kasteleiner." https://www.ksc.de/talentteam/jugendmannschaften/u17/team/ He does fly an American flag on his Instagram page. https://www.instagram.com/kid_j11/ German-born, according to T'markt: https://www.transfermarkt.de/jeremiah-kasteleiner/profil/spieler/475956 Seems to have been called into the same German U16 group as Ian Hoffmann. http://abseits-ka.de/41911/sport/u16-junioren-beim-dfb-laenderpokal-2/
There you go. I've been foiled by FuPa's spelling. Looking at his Instagram, this free kick he scored against Stuttgart is pretty wild.
Henrichs is German-born, and here's an article listing him as having a German father and a Ghanaian mother. Of course, there may be more to the story. https://www.ksta.de/sport/bayer04/b...henrichs-im-eiltempo-zum-weltmeister-25035938 His mother offered a Ghanaian recipe to a German publication a few years back, as it happens. https://www.ksta.de/freizeit/geniessen/wm-menue-4-ghanaisch-einkaufen-und-kochen--945066
