I was out performing my civic duty. Just saw the score. I guess GOAT won’t be starting again anytime soon.
How trash are the Swiss to make Portugal look like Brazil jesus And Ronaldo didn't just lose a step he lost 3, dude looks stiff amd slow af
Soccer is hilarious. Serbia qualified ahead of Portugal, couldn’t exit a group with the Swiss who then give the worst R16 performance. Also, how bad is Italy to have come second to Switzerland

Morocco definitely going to park the bus which makes it more likely for Ronaldo to start for aerial presence alone... He can still sky over these duses.
Damn. Since 2006 after Italy won they’ve only beaten England, and since Germany won they’ve only beaten Sweden and Costa Rica It was also interesting to see two European coaches who won the treble/sixtuple were embarrassed this World Cup, for all those who say winning the champions league is more difficult than the World Cup
The game changes fast. Not gonna say it's changing faster now than ever before but it seems to be... Euro leagues seem to be rotating at faster pace... Globalization?
Say what you will, I know football has changed, but you need to play with a striker. A real forward. Spain were bossing, besides Switzerland in 2010 because they had Villa and Torres. Then they got injured and you started seeing those 1-0 results with 99.9999% possession.
Imagine a coach in Mexico not starting a 21 yr old chicharito who had signed with ManU, was scoring goals in domestic league in favor of a less than 100% veteran..... Yet Portugal coach benches a true GOAT for a 21 yr old rising star. I'm fact has any Mexico coach started a young up and comer over a veteran in the WC? I guess LaVolpe with Guardado in rd 16 on 2006
I may not have been a big fan of Lavolpe’s style but the guy wasn’t afraid to give young players a chance. And thanks partially to him it is when we saw a large of number of Mexican players starting to go to Europe from 2005 going forward
I think this speaks more to the nature of short tournaments than to the quality of the side. Though, to be sure, their has been a decline in the level of play of both the Germans and Spanish NTs.
