If your dog is 3 years plus survival with lymphoma she/he is in the higher percentile of survivability. We had a dog that lived for 4 1/2 years with it, from 8 to12.5, the vet had his picture on the wall until the day she sold her practice and retired, but, have had two 12 year old dogs get it and both did not go into remission and died in less than 4 months. One of them had the same type of lymphoma as the dog that survived 4.5 years, and received the same protocol from the same vet. You just never know.

The city runs a spay and neuter clinic--it was $150 for a neuter about a year ago

"Back in the day" I don't recall anyone having pet insurance. We sure never did. I'm guessing this is all part of the racket - some connection between the prevalence of pet insurance and prices going up. and I don't think it's just simply that people need pet insurance because the prices are going up.

Pet insurance started becoming a thing right about the time that PE moved in.

The other big change: used to feel like you and the vet were partners in your pet's care. Now you go in and they try to guilt you. "This animal is on the brink of death, and it's clearly because you're terrible. For $xxxx we can try to deal with some of that damage." (And no, it's not just us -- I've overheard other pet people being shamed the same way at the vet's office.)

Yeah, it seems to me any time you get 3rd parties into the mix, everyone needs to collect their toll, and that's when the prices go up. And here's it's 2 different 3rd parties - PE and insurance, where it used to be just between you and the vet's office.

Would you take your dog there? And neutering is an easier and cheaper operation than spaying.

But, glad we have it! We had about $30,000 in vet bills for two dogs about 18 months ago. Trupanion paid most of it.

It seems to be decent, and I've had cats and dogs spayed/neutered there over the years. Now that I think about it, it must have been $220 for Harry -- there was a $70 deposit too.

Those are good prices. Some clinics are charging $1500 to get s medium sized dog spayed.

I remember when Judd first joined us and got some playing minutes, it was great to see someone who was the opposite of Jebo. More movement and hustle. Then there was that one game he came in as a sub and got sent off very quickly (for two yellows?). Since that game, he was in the funk for a long time, offering nothing but misplaced aggression resulting in more cards. His body language on the field suggested he was lost and really lack confidence.

I think I hated it when he came in as sub at that time knowing he would not help our game. When he was signed in the offseason fit one more year, I was like WTF. Why waste a roster spot?

Bruce really did something to help him build confidence, be more mature and get the most out of what Judd can offer as a

Yeah, gotta give Bruce credit for that one - seeing something in Judd when none of the rest of us did. I don't see him as the "opposite" to Jebo though in terms of movement and hustle. Jebo runs as much as any forward in the league, but it's a different kind of running than Judd. He drops way into midfield to help with buildup. So his running is into the midfield and back into the box. Judd is more of a hang out at the offside trap and butt heads guy. So his running is more like onto thru balls and pressing (which he does better than Jebo). Most guys press in a way where they're just going thru the motions. Judd goes pretty hard.

Speaking of Jebo, he's played only 17 minutes this year. I don't know if he's been injured, but man, it's gonna be hard for him to get minutes with Bouanga, Son, and Martinez all killin' it, and Ordaz on the bench also. He's the 5th forward at best. I'm sure he likes being on a good team, but at what price. He's not playing. Even last year, he played only 800 minutes.

It sounds like Preston’s dog is doing well and that’s great. But she’ll never be normal. Not having most of your small intestine is a permanent disability. So he’s a great guy to give her the chance with the emergency surgery where she might have died on the operating table and also to absorb all the long term care of having a dog with short bowel syndrome.

I’ve been seething since DISCO hypocrites fined him. Peeing is a normal behavior in dogs…who knew? And they don’t use porta potties. I hope each DISCO member experiences a time in their lives when they can’t pee.
Men pretending they can be pregnant and have a baby is more off-putting celebration IMO.

I think Judd probably chose the pee celebration as a calculated move so that the clip went viral, in turn drawing more attention to the cause. The possibility of getting fined (and achieving more notoriety) is a part of this.

Thank you for that additional information! I am all too familiar with getting surgery for a pet that is never going to be fully functional again, but love has little logic.

Note that women's soccer players never do the birth celebration. They know better.

I must admit the dog celebration made me more of a fan, having had 10 dogs enrich my life.

And he had a great game Sunday night.

It's quite a likeable bunch of players. It's for years like this, however rare they may have become, that we become and stay fans.
