Hypothetically, if the Earthquakes were to host the MLS Cup this Saturday and if PPP were to be occupied with this Enchanted Forest, where would the final be played? Just curious.....
I suspect that the Earthquakes have a clause in their contract with the Enchant people that the team has priority of PPP if needed and that Enchant would then be held elsewhere. But to answer your hypothetical question: would the Earthquakes end up forfeiting hosting duties and ask the opposing team to host the final instead? GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G

I don't know how or why the Quakes would want to give the other team an advantage of hosting a final if they don't have to. Next, year for example, if San Jose are the team with the best record and suddenly find themselves hosting the MLS Cup Final, I don't see how Enchant can logistically dismantle everything the week after Thanksgiving weekend.

Sure seems like SI will go bankrupt again before they pay for all those naming rights. Kinda like what happened to Avaya…

PPP mentioned lol Former mayor attempting to bring Major League Soccer team to Mesa Former Mesa Mayor John Giles said the city has started to look seriously into the possibility of bringing a Major League Soccer team to Mesa. “I think that would be a huge thing for the Valley,” Giles said Friday on KTAR’s AZ Political Podcast. “If you talk to other big metro areas, I’ve been to visit other mayors, and these are mayors with NFL and NBA teams, and all they can talk about is MLS because it’s just such an amazing fan experience.” While the greater Phoenix area currently has the Phoenix Rising, a professional team that competes in the United Soccer League Championship, the USL club plays in a second-division league on the American soccer pyramid. The Rising also play in a temporary stadium, near Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, that holds just more than 10,000 spectators, so a new stadium that meets MLS standards would need to be built before an MLS team arrives in Mesa. The MLS’ smallest stadium, PayPal Park in San Jose, California, has a capacity of 18,000.
Great! We get called out for having the smallest stadium in the league. Are we the smallest city too? Why do we have the smallest stadium? And why are our fans soooooo damn far from the field? I swear, we have to be the dumbest team in the league. Go Quakesfans!!
