Would be nice if they got grass, but it's still a dump. Except they have a cool British Columbia sports history museum onsite.

Old Trafford's leaking roof the perfect metaphor for two decades of Glazer ownership. No standards on or off the pitch. Outdated facilities, outdated infrastructure, outdated structure. All while the Glazers and their suits offloaded their debt and made £millions. A total farce. https://t.co/BnnEcD4Jco— Colin Millar (@Millar_Colin) May 12, 2024 When the ground starts acting like our defence. #Leaky #GlazersIn pic.twitter.com/OZIBRXUe2D— Cameron Foster (@CameronFozzi) May 12, 2024
Sportico just released their list of the 50 most valuable clubs and had Manchester United #1 with a valuation of $6.2 billion... so you'd think they would be able to afford both... also it's not like their team has been all that great over the last decade These are the 50 MOST VALUABLE soccer clubs in the world: European soccer clubs dominate the top of the financial table, but MLS lands the most clubs with 20 in the top 50, more than twice as many as the EPL.Full list: https://t.co/G8pKNPSzKZ pic.twitter.com/URUhmxQwtV— Sportico (@Sportico) May 8, 2024
Valuation only comes into play in two situations: 1) you're selling the team; or 2) you're trying to secure a loan. Otherwise, it's all bullshit.

The NYFG stadium looks sort of like what PayPal would have looked like if they had actually finished the damn thing instead of exposing all of those girders...
It's a misnomer to call the St. Louis stadium "downtown". It's a good distance west of the downtown core. And buried in the article, it's even referred to, in classic real estate disinformation,.as "Downtown West." The Bloomberg puff piece also downplays the "void" that exists in the area from "urban renewal." It's a veritable moonscape, and the soccer stadium, while welcome, barely scratches the surface, nor is it "uniquely urban" for MLS. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/feat...ter&utm_term=240516&utm_campaign=citylabdaily
Interesting article on the San Diego Padres who have the second highest attendance in MLB In the first season after Peter Seidler passed, Padres continue to show why 'sustainability' truly is about fan development, not financial flexibility. Will other owners learn?Dodgers rank #1 in MLB attendance. Small-market Padres rank #2. My daughter since "moving" down south, to attend school and now do her 2 yrs of orthotics and prosthetics residency has been to see the Angles, Dodgers. Padres. Angel City FC, Orange County SC, The Ducks, and by far the best stadium was Petco according to her.

The RIFC stadium looks like a really nice minor league stadium. Toyota stadium is kind of a mess. Not sure it makes sense to pump another $130m into it. They just did a $55m upgrade a couple of years ago. Sounds like they're feeling the same pressure that Fisher is feeling with PPP. They wish it was fancier, with more boxes.
