If they think DC United is bad, wait until they hear that the Quakes still haven't finished their roof (on a stadium that predates DC's)....

Let alone the roof, I guess seeing the outer skin (or something to help cut down the wind ) ever added to Avaya/PayPal is a pipe dream......

    Apparently so.

And to add insult to injury, while an outer skin was part of the agreed plan, ownership later actually went out of its way to publicly tell the city council (or whichever city panel it dealt with) that it might as well officially rescind that part of that already-agreed-to portion of the deal since ownership has decided not to honor it after all.

    GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! :(

Elected officials backed down on enforcing the stadium skin. It’s no longer part of the deal, as far as I’m aware. Saved Fisher at least $4 million.

Okay with me. Bare beams are more aesthetic, anyway.

I can see the attraction of the industrial look, however, it just irks me that they didn't build what they advertised they were going to build, and that includes the roof.
Not sure if am exterior skin would solve the wind tunnel effect, since it appears the wind comes swirling in from the open end. Probably would need to turn the corners there to block it.

We have sat in section 103 and would say the wind is not generally coming from the open end. We have been absolutely blasted when we have sat in the moat below section 111 - 112.

Wind is bad in the moat up top (bar level, section 4). It's non existent below though (sections 1-3).

When we had season tickets in 106 up near press box, wind was never an issue...but walking through the concourse was a whole other story.

Don't think there are seat above it. I think you'd fall off PPP's lack of a roof.

black seats in the Houston sun doesn't seem like a great idea so that leaves Option 2

Option 1 seemed to have the most black, so I voted for that.

    However, there are better options:

Can you imagine EQLLC ever asking fans for their opinion? Of course not - because EQLLC are all-knowing and all wise!

Green Bay looks even worse in terms of the almost flat rake of the seating than Levi's... 30th row and you need binoculars.

I don't think you can even call that a bowl, more of a plate.

Man, that's awful. They have an excuse though right? It was built in the 50's when people didn't know better? Or maybe it's because a steeper rake would cause people to slip on the ice and snow? Imagine a bunch of people slipping in-between the rows and whacking their heads on seats :)

I don't know what the Niners' excuse is.

Yes I was thinking age of the stadium has to play into it. In fact there are new stands higher up that are steeper:

The Rose Bowl and LA Memorial Coliseum are similar

Both also old, so no excuse for billion dollar Levi's stadium.

I have friends who attended the game. There was a lengthy pause due to lightning. Apparently, a streaker provided some much-needed entertainment. I'm having to get used to checking the weather radar before going outside - in WI the weather can/wants to kill you...
