He's a really cool dude, but the dude isn't good enough to be a consistent contributor. He's the quint essential plug the hole and hope for the best type of player. If we released or waived him, no one else would pick him up. He was one of our weaker guys in 2023, and surely will be one of the WEAKEST guys in 2024. Low ambitions keep players like this jack ass around.
"Jack Ass" ? I know you hate him but do you have to get nasty on the forum board and also I respect your opinion about no other teams would pick him up if he was waived but I disagree ...
He's a jackass player, but not a literal jackass. Respect the game, spit words. Dude sucks. Tell me what MLS team would pick him up? Change my mind. And clearly you don't come around too often. I have the foulest, nastiest, dirtiest, most disgusting, rotten, smart assed, smart mouthed, over sold, out spoken, flamboyant, charismatic, colorful, vile, mouth on this entire forum. This includes all over boards. I just control myself from entering the dark deep ends of this whole website because I would end up causing world war 3 of words among everyone.
Thats replikait, she was an asshole, I'm Kaitlyn, a bigger asshole . I will be the first to admit, I was happy we got him, only to turn sour every single time the dude played for us. With Monteiro gone, he's officially the worst guy we have on the roster.
I've watched him play in recent games and thought he was pretty decent and a possible first team candidate. No?
7 goals in 8 games for Quakes II (662 minutes). I'd give him another look, and maybe at CF not wide. He played in the center with Quakes II last year mostly I think.
I do agree with others that he is not MLS level (and not going to get much MLS interest) so either we send him out on loan so we can see in USL if he is getting better or keep him as some dude to be a temporary filler. The fact that a recently released Cam Cilley was starting to pass Baldisimo in the depth chart makes him look even worse as well (also brings into question with the fans why we are keeping him). He doesn't seem like he will get drastically better so I would rather start pushing up players like Mendoza and Medina that seem to have a higher upside.
One game may have biased me. He came on and had more fouls than touches of the ball. It was pretty amazing. He has not shown to be any threat as an attacking player (whether speed or skill). Any particular reason that you think that he should start?
He's barely had any meaningful minutes on the 1st team. But the "particular reason" is 7g in 8 games for Quakes II. And I don't think anyone's arguing that he should start, just that he's worth keeping around for another year at least to see what he can do.
I have only seen those games on tv, so may have missed some nuances, but he looks fast and more importantly, he looks like he has game smarts. A lot of our first team players have speed or skill but seem to lack game IQ, not naming names here.
Bouda is very bad. Bouda, Baldisimo, Richmond, and possibly Walls are the worst guys on Q1. Not very inspiring.
Kaitlyn is just rude, as she herself says. I thought Michael was pretty good in Vancouver, and was surprised that they let him go. He fit their system, where he clogged up passing lanes and made decent to good passes to his teammates. But he’s not a fit for the Quakes. Maybe they think that he’s starting to get the hang of what they want. Go Quakesfans!!
With Trauco gone we’re lousy with MFs who can help break up opponent attacks but add nothing to ours.
