Making $3 million a year as a national team DT of Chile I'm sure enticed him. Not getting out of his contract in San Jose I'm sure pisses him off. Three years ago things were different though. Now in this time of pandemic, I'm assuming a national team position would be less stressful than the rigors of coaching the Quakes. Then again looking the standings, its not like Chile will have an easy path to qualifying for WC 2022. He might be in their plans for 2026 though....
Zura was out of shape when he came. That was Doyle’s genius you tube find.., Two of Ecuador’s current national team players play in MLS for Seattle and Orlando.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ecuador_national_football_team#Current_squad

Sorry to hear that. Both my parents passed away in September, and it's definitely something that changes you.
Terrible news. My condolences to the Almeyda family. bsman - so sorry to hear of your loss. I lost both of mine within two years of each around 12 years ago...it does change you. It is a very strange feeling.
that must've been so hard, losing parents is tough...so strange not having them around. By now I've lost my parents and my wife has lost hers too, in some ways I suppose they're always with us but then there's also a big hole in our lives where they used to be, sad.
It's been weird - since we haven't had an opportunity to really have a memorial (I did a zoom thing with relatives, but it's not the same), and I hadn't been able to visit them since last January (Covid). I guess I'll get back to WI this summer and hopefully by that time we'll get to give them a real send-off.
I hope we're all close to getting vaccinated by then and the conditions are favorable, that just makes it so much harder, not being able to say good-bye properly.
Translated from Spanish by I am deeply grateful to each of the people who were comforting me during this sad moment; By the faith that I have I know that my dad is happily resting in peace.
