I said it was over after the third game (vs Vancouver). Doesn’t mean the Quakes saw it that way. Or see it that way even now.
I don't doubt @Kaitlyn or @Beerking or their inside information and i'm sure they both know more than any of us but @Quakes05 makes great points. Whether Shawlee is in charge now or not is not important because Fisher is the owner and it's his club. Everyone else works for him. They are all just a reflection of what he wants or wanted in the past or up until now and we have all seen what has gone wrong with this club for the last 16 years. I mean, if Fisher is a hands off owner etc., then why doesn't he surround himself or hire people who know what they are doing? For that matter, let's say he doesn't care or doesn't want to get involved but then if that is the case, why wouldn't he not want to be in charge when it's his team? It all makes little sense.
Yes, please not Ralston. On the Aftershock they said that the Quakes have 2 guys ready to take the mantle from Luchi if CL decides to do that. But the 2 guys they mentioned were not "The 'ee'" (Ian) and Ralston. It was "The 'ee'" and Covelo.
Ian certainly has put in his dues. He wasn’t around when Almeyda quit or was fired otherwise , he may have gotten the job then. He may be the cheaper otpion but the question is does Shawlee want to hire him?
Shawlee may hold the purse strings, but how do we know he has a "blank check"? I'm sorry but based on what we know of Fisher I really really doubt he's given a blank check to anyone for any reason, from the Quakes to the A's to both stadium plans to any companies he's involved with or other investments... probably not even to his own wife.
Blame the president, not the owner makes zero sense because…the president reports to the owner. Blame both of them lol, nobody is blameless
so many questions for our friend @Beerking today, the odd suggestion that "Fisher has given Shawlee a blank check to buy whomever he sees fit", is just one of them... do the people in charge understand that the roster wasn't ready to go for 2024 and how can they blame Luchi for their own failure? this makes no sense; why would Shawlee would do this? So some random person over at Fox Sports (director of sports media and research???) has confirmed with you personally that Shawlee is the real villain in San Jose? But we can't know who or why?
Like OJ's "search for the real killer" we're gonna set out to find "the real villain in San Jose" for the Quakes! I await with bated breath!
@NedZ and @SeaJayBee probably can confirm, Fisher gave Shawlee and the Quakes a budget to work with over the course of years to spend on roster and coaching. The time table of that is unknown.
Her name is Rachel, you can call her directly if you want. I just found where she posted the information on her linkedin page, which she and Shawlee are mutual friends, and he posts on her posts a lot. She posted be on the look out on the show Undisputed on Fox Sports there will be an upcoming piece about John Fisher and the Oakland A's and how The City and Ownership/Management failed each other. She also mentions, it will also cover a little bit about how the Earthquakes another Fisher owned team are floundering in a growing Major League Soccer. I'm going to assume Shawlee is interviewed on it because David Kaval is also interviewed. She holds MLS Media Credentials, she's very critical of the Quakes and a lot of channels in Major League Soccer.
no offense but I raised these questions with @Beerking, in response to his posts. I'd rather give our conversation a rest.
Kaitlyn's post above, #1171, is accurate and quite factual. All the answers you need are right there in front of you, and yes, you can ask her directly if i was stretching the truth.
