Nah I rarely if ever go in a branch, do most everything through the "app(s)" or website(s). Even ATM's are on he Star/CO-OP network so no fees at pretty much any ATM.
First Tech credit union is good. They used to be the HP Credit union but merged with someone quite awhile ago. I don’t really know how they stay in business, unless the Hewlett and Packard families still have their assets with them.
Honestly I don't see any reason to use a brick-and-mortar bank unless it's for a big life event like a home mortgage. Get an online bank with a solid high-yield savings option (e.g. Capital One, Ally), a credit card with good perks and cash back/travel benefits, and a robo-advisor / Vanguard for investments.
Ha, almost as soon as I posted this, i got this email: I am pleased to report that the Board of Directors of First Tech and Digital Federal Credit Union (DCU) have unanimously approved a merger of equals uniting the nation’s two leading technology focused credit unions.
Tofu as a burger meat substitute is ass. If you truly must, this might be more palatable: https://www.justonecookbook.com/chicken-tofu-hamburger-steak/
My daughter was vegan for a while (now vegetarian + fish). Anyway, thru that vegan ordeal I think we all came to the conclusion that rather than try to make fake meat / cheese out of veggies, just eat good veggie dishes. Don't try to be something that you're not.
I don't know if I could ever eliminate Cheese!!!!!! I haven't eaten fast food in so long, it smells nasty to me when I drive by places now. Good thing about getting sick, and @TyffaneeSue is trying to get me on a good diet, but some of it is yuck
Well, don't eat the yuck! Most truly healthy food isn't yucky, but some of the prepared stuff, even if it has decent ingredients, isn't great. I never thought I could give up cheese, but it hasn't been a problem, plus there are much better vegan cheeses out there than there were just a few years ago. Good on you, Kaitlyn, for giving it a try!
Zucchini needs a lot of stuff on it to be palatable, in my opinion. I make a lot of beans though. We belong to the Rancho Gordo bean club, and get to try out all kinds of beans. Big difference between fresh dried beans and the stale dried beans you buy at the grocery, kind of surprising, actually.
I think zucchini is tricky. You gotta surround it with bolder tasting ingredients (ratatouille), a savory sauce/soup (chinese stir fry like kung pao chicken, pasta sauce, minestrone), or brown it really well to get that caramelly surface after salting to get the excess water out.
We got (vegan) Thai takeout and one of the curries had some zucchini so of course I thought of this discussion. A piece or two is okay, swimming in curry sauce. But that's about my limit. Once when I was in the hospital with a new baby, someone's idea of a veg meal was a plate with a scoop of plain shredded zucchini and a scoop of shredded carrots and nothing else. It was so disgusting and I have never quite recovered.
