Curiously, human lungs are not designed for inhaling smoke! I developed asthma when I moved to the Pacific North Wet. No smoking weed, no incense, no scented candles, no unscented candles. That’s the way of it. Good luck. Glad you finally found a good doc. Get well soon!
Good. A friend of mine just went on the Stanford lung transplant list after years of lung issues. I guess not a lot of long term survivability associated with this type of transplant. So, take care of yourself!
I used to audition for a lot of musicals when I was a kid, and there was a girl named Saralee whose audition song was Girl From Ipanema. She had a great voice (much better than mine) and she was very cute, but I don't think she made it past local theater and that song is not going to earwig me. In case you're wondering, my audition song was Cockeyed Optimist, which is actually pretty accurate.
I guess it's all hit and miss. My dad was with Kaiser Santa Theresa for some time (pre-pandemic) and they were amazing. His PCP would always answer my emails, generally within a couple of hours of my original inquiry. The P.T.s there were awesome and I always knew that his neurologist would be at least 40 minutes late, but that was because he would spend so much with the patients and answer all the questions they had. A buddy I play soccer with, though, is a doctor there now and he is telling me all of the new physicians coming into the facility "just don't want to put in the time", so, I don't know any more....
My private practice (not concierge) PCP retired last month. I had a lot of trouble finding a new PCP and finally found a doc at MV Sutterhealth who was willing to take me as a Medicare UHC PPO patient. Apparently, UHC and Medicare pay so little that doctors won’t take patients with that insurance. That being said, once I met with my new doc, I was impressed how Sutter followed up and actually called me to schedule my mammogram and other stuff prescribed. But, in a large healthcare org that is Sutter, I’m otherwise expecting a much lower level of care. I believe that after this initial checkup (retail cost of $570!), I will probably only get to see a PA or NP.
I hope they can slow the progression of Your COPD. Welcome to the world of incurable disease. I hope yours doesn’t ******** you up as much as mine has!
Good for you! I was down 11lbs but went a BD party last night and gained 4 back! LOL Off to church and then the gym I go!
Piss off!! I would wish that on … well, maybe my worst enemy, but certainly not anyone on this forum.
While drastic, most of her weight loss was "water", as she starts to eat regularly and hopefully slight better than before she will regain most of it quickly.
I have a technique that transforms tofu into a delicacy. Once you try it, you will all be clamoring for the veg life.
