I didnt see any bias as a very conservative republican. What I did see, is a man evade answering all the questions, pointless lie and attack Harris and Biden every chance he had. He had an opportunity to keep me, and others like me on his side by systamatically explaning his policies, stances and answering to his past statements. He lost me last night and Ive fully defected to the Harris camp, and Middle Democratic Road to the point I will re-register my party. No cantidate is perfect or fourth right, but she is the best opportunity to bring some peace and potential to unite true moderate republicans and democrats to get back to work for this country, and step away from the extreme left and maga right. I could see moderate Republicans and moderate democrats create a new party. Hopefully the Party of Lincoln. A friend of mine last night a long time Republican said she was ashamed she ever voted for Trump, and the 100k she donated to Harris Campaign comes with great pride.
Looking from afar (S. America) I've got to admit how disfuncional the whole debates have become in the States. It's like watching third world candidates up there. More lies and personal attacks than actually telling the people exactly what it is they're going to do to help the country. It's become farcical unfortunately. Dark times in the States and the whole world is watching.
Did you watch it though? Kamala Harris was on point. She looked and sounded presidential, showed that she knows what she's talking about and understands what the job entails. She spent most of her time talking specifically about her plan to help the country while the other guy talked about having a concept of a plan...and dog eating Haitians. I don't know how things are where you live but we're going through some things and its election season here, so it gets a little messy. I'd still rather be here than just about any place though.
Their eating the dogs... eating the cats... I unfriended Eddie Robinson last night. Hes gone full psycho, who believes Haitian people will eat his dogs...
Our debates were actually OK until 2016. Hmm, what changed in 2016? I remember the McCain-Obama debate was pretty good. We can have reasonable respectful disagreements about the role and size of government, etc., but when we get to “migrants eating pets” and “live birth abortions” it’s tough to have a sane policy based debate from all sides. I may or may not even be a Republican but in any case I’d like to see the old party back.
Who'd a thought the Left would be clammer for the good days of Dick Cheney. I would LOVE to see a McCain centric party.
Dictators support Trump so probably. Let's just say the magnitude of the candidate's lies were a bit different. Nothing surprising though. I wish ABC didn't keep turning back on the mics when they wanted to move on.
Our political system is broken. Like so much else in this country. I stick to local politics, where the people are reasonable, outcomes matter to me personally, and I can have an impact.
Trust me, presidential politics matter to all of us, personally. Look no further than the Supreme Court, whoever thought Roe v. Wade would be overturned?
McCain-Obama, Romney-Obama were very good debates, not as much sniping, and hardly any insulting. McCain went on record many times to defend the person Obama is, as did Romney. The political parties didn't need to resort to degradation towards the opponent.
I knew it would be over turned. It was just a matter of time, it was a teetering issue that could easily be one of those flipped.
Me Too. Obama was the last honorable President we had. Racism and Hillary lead to Trump, who lead to January 6th, which lead us to today, and this year's election I think is the most critical election in the history where this country goes.
I was shocked. Probably shouldn't have been. Trump installed 3 new conservative justices (after the senate blocked Obama from nominating one, with almost a year left to go in his term), Republicans got their big win on that one. Imagine a fourth or fifth conservative justice (if Trump were to get re-elected), we're just going even further back to the dark ages. They are there for life.
Thats why I knew that would be the issue that could be over turned. It was the weakest standing one that they knew they could get done. We're pretty close to women being back in kitchens' barefoot and pregnant with no voice, transgendered people put in prison, the right to shoot and kill people because they're different, child molestation, rape and imprisonment for anyone who doesn't agree with them, thats what the Party of Trump want. Republicans are defecting in huge numbers, but there's a lot of ignorant people out there, and I'm fearful. The poor, homeless and old are going to be obliterated. I'd take ANYONE but Trump as President. Nikki Haley and Ron Da Santis' people have turned on Trump today after the debates, so it's a tell tale sign.
Dick Cheney is liberal compared to Trump/MAGA. I am very proud of Liz Cheney for standing her ground all the way through and never being bought to turn.
yep, she's a rock star...absolute profile in courage, for real. Adam Kinzinger too. Republicans putting country first.
Yes, a real Republican sees the errors and terroristic levels of treason Trump's party is going to bring and has brought to America. The worst thing to ever happen to this country is the disgrace the Rioters brought to the Capital building. The house the Washington Built, the most sacred American building in history. It was domestic terrorism.
9/11 also, of course, terrible. But I know what you mean and couldn't agree more. It's hard to even comprehend that this guy who told this BIG LIE and got this mob to attack the US Capitol (as ugly a chapter in US history as we will witness, political violence at its worst "hang Mike Pence!" while he sat and watched as Capitol Police were being beaten with US flags), still stands before us as a legitimate candidate. He's still lying and crying about it. I loved how she put it, "82 million people fired you and you're still having a hard time processing it."
How can he defend the police, then condone the police being attacked, killed and beat down? Kamala Harris started as a cop, is a cop and will forever support the cops. There's no ands iffs or butts, no matter what he says. And yes 82 million people fired him.
