Dom Kinnear just drafted a guy who isn't an athletic specimen, but is a smart player and can actually make passes... what is happening?

And I can't believe we got Yueill without having to trade up for him.

 

Dom pick or Jesse pick ?

 

I can 100% garuntee you it wasnt a Jesse pick. If it was someone overruling dom, it would have been Chris Leitch.

But people here still havent seemed to figure out that Kinnear made Brad Davis a best XI player in this league.

How is Yueill like Brad Davis? And we are well aware that Kinnear loves pumping crosses into the box...

 

Technical player without great pace, supposedly something that Kinnear loathes.

 

He and Tommy can be bench-mates.

 

Too bad he isn't joining the team a little sooner, like December. He could have regaled the team with some Yueill-tide carols.

 

RSL is talking about bringing in Brooks Lennon from Liverpool.... the Quakes should get Yueill to convince Mukwelle Akale to come here for a season on loan from Villareal, to get some first team minutes.

Um... Maybe it is because Chris Leitch is the guy making the recommendations?

 

So how does he fit into the empty bucket?

 

Ah, he'd be at the bottom of the bucket with the rest of the central mids, looking at acres of space in front of them, admiring the grass.

 

Good question. I have a feeling they may play him at a LM or RM start and then move him centrally later (as often happens to young guys like that), but hopefully it signals a move away from the empty bucket entirely... I doubt it though.

Will he even be in San Jose or will they ship him off to Reno?

Sigh, Dom Kinnear cannot be fired soon enough.

 

I saw Yueill as a freshman against Stanford, and he really stood out. Not so much when I saw him (one time) this year. Still, I'm happy the EQ are giving him a shot. As for his buddy, Mukwellw Akale--as a Villarreal fan I'm hoping he can crack the first team. That would be a great accomplishment for any American, plus their type of player is exactly what we need more of--technical, quick-of-thought, and smart.

 

Hey, me too. I didn't know there was another yellow submarine supporter who's a Quakes fan. Villarreal have been for years able to punch above their weight because of the ability to find talent.
