John Fisher hired Jared Shawlee, who hires and is responsible for the entire quakes front office and management staff.
As I recall, when Doyle was GM, players' agents like Stefani Miglioranzi for example, presented him with a list of available players to MLS who were waiting to be signed and he would sign whomever was in his budget. From what I heard, the agents usually hated dealing with Doyle because he was very difficult to deal with and many avoided or bypassed him if they could. It still comes down to the budget though so that may be the reason why they didn’t like presenting him with players.
Nope. Shawlee is worse then Kaval. He's a penny puncher and allows for cheap budgeting. Quakes also got a large surplus of cash a few years ago that was supposed to be used for roster and coaching, but we've had to eat a good portion of it on bad coaching (Almeyda and Luchi) buy outs, and large bad contracts like over paying Wondolowski in his twilight.. So no. not impressed with Shawlee.
That's a whole different question, of course, but we agree that we need new people running the show, so that's good. Go Fisher! Find us some competent, capable people to run the show and let's get this thing turned around, FINALLY! PPP is long overdue for its first-ever playoff game and we're seriously sick and tired of this wooden spoon bullshit.
Word on the street is the Quakes have had the big wooden spoon trophy locked down for weeks, with seven (7) games left to play! Not only is the 2024 wooden spoon ours, but I've also been hearing that this 50th anniversary year for San Jose just may be the worst full season performance by any MLS team, ever, in the history of the league... ...and I'm pretty sure that with this spoon, Quakes will have accumulated more wooden spoons than any other team in league history. sooo, when it comes to being worst...Quakes kind of own that distinction.
I can careless if we have a playoff game at home or not. 11 men on the field need to do their jobs and they dont. There for, no playoffs.
Playoffs are the objective, its why they play the game. They want to be the best and MLS cup is how that's decided (yes, Supporters Shield too but if you're winning that, like we did in 2012, you're probably getting a home playoff game too, although that didn't go so well for us in 2012....was that really our last home playoff game? Damn that's a long time ago.). I think you're right; the people Fisher hires to lead the organization (Leitch and Shawlee) aren't getting the job done. If you understand that, it's hard to blame our players and coaches.
These are all grown men. Players and Coaches need to be held accountable as well. This isnt participation woke shit. This is big boy soccer.
It’s great to see you on the comeback trail. Not sure why you want to spend your energy arguing though. This is all kind of stupid. We want the same thing I’m sure, to see our team making some progress. I’m not really interested in arguing with you, sorry.
Are we arguing about race? I missed that, but I agree. Race is a social construct; there are generally many more intriguing topics to argue about.
