Chelsea are playing much, much better football than Arsenal at the moment -- they are probably the best team, on form, in Europe at the moment. With that said, I am very excited about Real Madrid's chances against Barcelona now. We just demolished Albacete, Ronaldo got two goals, and the team seems to be clicking. Should be a good week...
Barca, here we come..... Albacete just got thrashed...6 goals from 5 different players, just the boost we needed. Zizou, Figo, Ronaldo were all in sublime form. and i just get the feeling that owen will score against barca. One might argue barca is not albacete...and that is why there needs to be some caution. We were giving away too many free kicks and the defense was non-existent at times...but who the hell cares ? we are back to scoring more than the opposition...I only hope Solari, Ronaldo et al can make more of their chances - this game should have been Real's by 10 goals atleast. I hope this is not a "once a season" display...but the start of a great streak whose next step is to put barca in their place at nou camp. Like the commentator ended : "Barcelona, be scared. Very scared."
Re: Barca, here we come..... its true we did play well, and playing like that next week would give us 3 points id say the skysports commentators tend to overdo it a bit, but as he said, be afraid! (as long as we play like that again) Sinko, can you combine this with the 'official' thread? cheers
Re: Barca, here we come..... Is it because Albacete really weren't threatening them in the 2nd half or did the defence look that bad? To only give up one goal (which really was a blunder by Samuel) doesn't sound all that bad. If Samuel can contain himself and realize he isn't in Italy anymore, he and Helguera (hopefully his injury isn't too bad) can really be strong at the back.
Re: Barca, here we come..... i am a cb myself, and games like that are the hardest, you have very little to do, so when you are called upon its hard to get into the game, restore concentration, it wont be like that at barca anyway
Re: Barca, here we come..... Yeah, I hear ya' on that. I will assume that the back will be busy against Barca, but I am confident that they will be able to hold their ground.
This match is now going to be even better after the results of tonight. the gap is now only 4 points and if we can get a win next week will only be a point (not bad considering 'barca are world class' and 'real are fu cking up' ) Real will be full of confidence, barca less so, this should be a real gran classico - cant wait edit: helguera is a serious doubt for this game according to marca, lets hope he can recover in time!
Re: Barca, here we come..... If Betis could score two goals against Barca, then our offense sure should score that much. Let's get it on...
Re: Barca, here we come..... Posted this in the Albacete thread, but thought it would do better here... Does anyone know anywhere in the Boston area that would be showing the match? It looks like a lot of pubs are EPL-only (pity the fools)...
What a slapdick post. 6-1 win today, not impressive. Zidane and Figo are shadows of what they once were, damn, that hurts, because they are still two of the world's best players in any position. Figo still somewhat dangerous you say? Try dangerous as hell...and fvcking be ready for him. MGR is too retarded to see moro's potential? I disagree. When you have Rual, Ronaldo, and Owen (who is scoring like crazy) it's tough to steal a spot...nice to have him as a reserve. Let's talk in a week...
Go hang out with Cygan, the world's greatest player, and keeping talking sh1t about a real team...what a d1ck! It's always entertaining to see the ignorance of other teams' fans towards us only because we win...all the f'ing time...
You might want to buy some ketchup to add flavour to your foot... just in case you have to put it in your mouth next week.
Re: Barca, here we come..... the match is on saturday isn't it? well, i don't know about places in Boston to watch a match, but if you don't find one you could always come down to New York. The atmosphere at Nevada Smith's is unbeatable for the derby. Packed to the gills, a lot of expats, it's a good time. There's a thread in the Spain or the Spain clubs forum that also lists at least three other bars in NYC that show la liga.
Re: Barca, here we come..... if you do decide to go to Nevada's, make sure to get there well ahead of the game, as it can get really crowded.
Re: Barca, here we come..... I just realized my friend's birthday is that night, so no dice. I emailed 4 or 5 bars around here, hopefully one of them comes through. But for the Spring game at the Bernebeau I will do everything in my power to get down there -- it sounds like a great time! Stupid friend's birthday...
Did you see Chelsea's demolition of Fulham on sat?their form, contrasted with Arsenal's latest displays especially their laboured win over modest Tottenham, is scary...in the EPL at least...they are mean, efficient and goal oriented though I hate their football...it achieves results and they look like they are running away with the league..the 12th of December beckons and we shall see what happens. THis is a Barcelona-Real thread by the way and the former should be really afraid...!I just can't wait!
Jokstein superport msg boards not enough for you anymore huh? We slipped up against Betis but you all know at Camp Nou we are special especially against you [grow up, please]. With 90,000 cules putting the fear into the white team. Okay enough of that now. We would want to right the wrongs of 6 December 2003 and put on a show at Camp Nou. I can tell you now RM don't enough defenders for us. Visca El Barca! Catalunya is not Spain!
umm you live in South Africa which is an english speaking country and you can't speak good english? what is wrong with you??
I knew that Barcelona would slip this past weekend, but I did not expect them to lose. Anyway, I bet on Barcelona to draw on one of my All-up bet. I won every single matches until the last one. Have Barcelona equalized? I would have won about 3480 Euros from a 5 Euro bet.
I am At least I know how to write Barça, instead of pretending to be a supporter of a boat. Boats can't play football! There's no way for a boat to move across the field, and even if they could, they can't kick the ball! It's impossible. Never fails to amaze me how the hardcore Barcelona supporters can't even write in their own 'language' when they're making such a big deal of their Catalan roots. Of course it's not Spain, it's part of Spain you ninny.
