I see the Czechs going all the way to the finals. Nedved is going to fire this team all the way. Basically, Germany-Netherlands is overhyped. The Czechs will beat the two of them and win the group. How about my boys Latvia? ;-) LOL J/K Nah, Latvians don't figure to go anywhere.

France-England: Super Matchup. Neither team is favored and the fans will teach the Benfiquistas how to cheer at their own ground. ;-) Henry is always dangerous but the rest of the team may fail him this time. I expect Becks to be red-carded. Either him or that sod Scholes.

Sweden-Denmark: Can be entertaining, considering that they're neighbours but their football isn't my cup of tea.

Italy-Sweden: Expect this to be the match where Italy is "upset". Hehe. Again, their press starts calling for the coach's head. LOL

This is how I see the standings:

    Group A Group B Group C Group D
    1. Spain 1. Croatia 1. Sweden 1. Czech Republic
    2. Portugal 2. England 2. Italy 2. Netherlands
    3. Greece 3. France 3. Bulgaria 3. Germany
    4. Russia 4. Switzerland 4. Denmark 4. Latvia

    Quarterfinals

    Spain-England
    Croatia-Portugal
    Czech Republic-Italy
    Sweden-Netherlands

    Semifinals

    Spain-Sweden
    Portugal-Czech Republic

    Final

    Spain-Czech Republic

    Winner

    Spain

As an Italian I can say that Sweden will not trouble Italy but Denmark will and that will probably be the game that Italy will lose in the group. Italy usually plays well against Sweden and Italy should be able to handle Bulgaria quite easily.

    Spain-Russia: This Saturday

What do you think will happen in that match? History may suggest that Spain might have an easy time with the Russians. At least the USSR would have given them trouble. However, Spain likes to play a faster game and Russians are typically slow in the summer months. The location favors the Spanish greatly.

    I predict a 3-1 score for Spain

    thanks for the info frank.

i actually checked the italian federation's website and checked their press releases for info.

i'll be going tomorrow to watch italy train at the restelo (which surprisingly is NOT closed doors)

i wont be going to guimaraes at all this time round frank, though i have been before.

i'll be going to porto to watch the italy vs sweden game though. cant wait.

atmosphere here at the moment is electric. flags on every building. and i mean EVERY building. i went down to parque das nacoes (old expo) this morning and they've setup the fanpark there. it looks pretty special. i think theres 3 huge screens. you cant turn the tv on without hearing about the euro (typical portuguese reaction to overdo everything!!)

anyways, thanks again for the info

Denmark vs Italy to be live on Fox sports world, it sucks, I missed the two games today, on top of it, no portuguese radio coverage, I had to call my wife every 5 minutes for updates.

what waste of money, twomorrow I will miss two more games, I'm off on Monday hope to get some of my money back

I guess you would have to rely on me for Euro updates. :p

Anyway, saw the Spain-Russia match...I won't say how I did that...I thought it was an even match. Spain took the initiative, as assumed. Russia had some good counters. I forget his name but one Russian made what I thought was the best play so far. He dribbled past three Spanish defenders, evading the tackles in the box, then hit a shot that came off Casillas' knee for a corner.

Valeron hit the only goal, during the second half. He just came on the pitch before scoring.

Thanks to TSN, both matches were on LIVE today across Canada..tomorrow's France vs England game will also be live and the Swiz vs Croatia will be replayed...

Sorry to rub it in Frank!
