The new Lockhart good and almost like ours. Just a hunch , I'm betting Inter Miami will still be playing there 5 years.....
"Insider Notes: USWNT's Future Opponents; Jay Berhalter Not in Frame for U.S. Soccer CEO" (SI.com - Wednesday, 2/5/20) GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
The Athletic wrote about NYCFC’s being the only MLS team playing in a baseball stadium (actually 2 baseball stadiums last year), its declining STH count, lack of identity and relevancy in NY, and a ‘middle class’ roster. They linked to a 2019 article where Marlins Director of Operations Chip Bowers said that NYCFC pays the Yankees $1M per game to use the stadium. Part of the cost is redoing the field each time, which takes 3 days. The Athletic feels that this high stadium cost is part of the reason that NYCFC does not spend a lot on players.

Interesting development on Levi's ... NEW: @SantaClaraCity officials approved terminating entire @49ers stadium management contract https://t.co/d7VIZNn422— San José Spotlight (@SJSpotlight) February 13, 2020
Looks like the Nashville mayor got the club to agree to pay all costs of building the stadium = an additional $54M. Great job! I wondered about this tweet though, because I thought it strange that so many replies were GIFs, almost as if orchestrated. Any thoughts on that? Am I misconstruing? It's happening. We've reached an agreement with Mayor John Cooper to immediately move forward with our @MLS stadium at The Fairgrounds Nashville. #EveryoneN | https://t.co/3NK0r88FDA pic.twitter.com/RuzBCdTFJ6— Nashville SC (@NashvilleSC) February 13, 2020
On a related note: https://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2...osition-to-santa-claras-controversial-prop-c/ A $300K contribution is a big deal in Santa Clara. The 49ers are actively meddling in Santa Clara politics, and they have the business mouthpiece - "The Silicon Valley Voice" in their back pocket, continually blasting articles on how terrible the city government is. A lot of us (residents of SC) are very unhappy with the 49ers. I live on the north side (less than a mile, as the crow flies, from the stadium) and they have been anything but great neighbors.
Ever since former mayor Jamie Matthews mysteriously resigned immediately post-SuperBowl 50... https://www.sanjoseinside.com/2016/02/08/santa-clara-mayor-jamie-matthews-announces-retirement/ Here's another untold story: https://santaclaranews.org/2020/02/...5-kvgcpYLN_QWvf1BDOFLV_hyJjq2XNfJTnM5rBfqpVRo
Are the conflicts of interest because the city of Santa Clara paid for the stadium? If Jed York had paid for the stadium himself he could work with any vendors right?
If stadium management are involved in negotiating contracts with vendors, would it not be poor optics for them (management) to own stock in said companies?????

I can't find the updated , newer parking prices online. This was from a year ago. Has the price of parking gone up?
Awesome - let's make a huge deal out of something EVERY OTHER TEAM IN THE LEAGUE has accomplished every single year. How pathetic is it that merely doing the bare minimum is celebrated as a gigantic accomplishment here? How pathetic are we to be lapping up this spew?
How pathetic is this? They've been working on it for a year, and all they can say is (paraphrased): "The design of this stadium is FUBARed so badly, that even after working on architectural enhancements for the past year we're just going to have to settle for the absolute worst supporters section in the known universe." A giant thank you to Dave Kaval. I can hardly wait to see what monstrosity he comes up with in Oakland...
I thought the Ultras did better in the upper part. It was a decent experiment to move them down and I thought it would be better, but it's just not. The space is to small for them and they aren't as loud. So why can't they just make a safe standing section in the upper deck? Also build a roof over them to help with the sound. Also move the big drum to their section and let them bang it -- maybe with a roof over it it would be loud enough that they don't need to amplify it?
This has been a recurring theme with the EQ organization (FO) since they brought the team back. They act like they're the smartest people in the world and are unwilling to listen to anybody else. Enron were also "The smartest people in the room", and look how well that turned out! It really is a terribly incompetent, yet arrogant organization, although things have improved somewhat over the past few years. I think Dave Kaval's enormous ego pervaded and informed the entire EQ office...
It's not that they didn't listen, they just didn't care. Building a proper supporter section would have entailed designing the stadium different than it was. It was too easy, tidier, and cheaper to have the deck continue around like it is. In the "Ultra" end there should be a supporters section that goes from ground level from right behind the goal close enough to smell the goalie's farts and attached to the upper deck, so the Ultra's can "grow" upwards.
There are so many design flaws with the stadium -- you can almost believe the designers had never done it before.
