I find it sort of amazing that Danny is on his way to a potentially >20 goal season (ten in 6 games) without a lot of fanfair until now. That’s more in a season than Wondo has scored since 2012! I was watching (Giants, I think?) and saw a commercial or promo showcasing Hoesen. In a year that’s been difficult, he has been pretty consistent performer. I can’t wait to see what he does in the 2nd half of this season. I sure hope we have him locked down for a few years!
The top 10 revelations of the 2018 MLS season so far No. 9: Danny Hoesen The San Jose Earthquakes forward has always been known as a guy to get into great positions, only to disappoint too often on the finish. In his first season with the Quakes, Hoesen put a meager 34 percent of his shot attempts on target, and buried just 7 percent of them to end up with five league goals. This year, he's on frame 43 percent of the time and scoring on 18 percent of his efforts. He's also firing exactly 50 percent more shots per game over last season, which is why he's already scored (a top-flight career high) 10 goals in about 400 fewer minutes played. Hoesen has both of San Jose's winners and a pair of game-tying goals, so imagine where they'd be without him.
I am not sure I quite agree with that 100%. Hoesen does a lot of work to free up other players on the pitch, and the more effective Wondo is the more looks on goal Hoesen gets.
A migraine after a collision? I hadn’t heard of that before, altho my son-in-law occasionally gets migraines after playing soccer.

If the Quakes can get some good midfielders who will give him good production , I really think Danny Hoesen can have a good year. Then again maybe I’m dreaming.....
For me, this is the best part of the article. Yeah, that's the attitude I want to see. Go Quakes!! We're going to chew it again! - Mark
The beauty of MLS for many players is there is no relegation. After winning 4 games, Danny is also lucky to be in a team and league where pro/rel doesn't exist. He would probably have been long gone if he had to go through a relegation.
Huh? He would probably have been signed by a team that remained in MLS that could use a quality forward, like Vancouver, SKC, RSL, NYCFC, etc. Good players on teams that get relegated can still find a place on a first division team see: Shaqiri, Xherdan.
Either way he would be long gone from the Quakes and with no possibilities of a return. Unless he were loaned out but that rarely happens.Of course it’s all hypothetical as there is no relegation, thankfully.
During the offseason, I guess we could always talk about how much better Vako is than Hoesen! Or how they will both win us more than Four games.... Oh wait, I think we already talked about that....
Pretty solid lineup for the #Quakes74 today against their @USLChampionship affiliate Reno. Danny Hoesen is not available for today's game, I'm told, because he is working on securing his Green Card. Expect him back ahead of new weekend's game against @LAFC. https://t.co/1VKtLNWxv1— Robert Jonas (@robertjonas) February 9, 2019
Loved the Twitter retort, "solid compared to what?" I guess stool samples come in different degrees of runniness.
