I don't know if this has been discussed, but I've noticed that Waibel cannot make a good offensive play to save his life. His defending is alright but distribution to the midfield needs some work. Is his sole function to break up plays and clear the back line ? I know that in the last couple of years or D has run into open spaces pushing our mids forward.

Similiar to Dayak, Craig's strength is not on offensive. I like some of his runs, but they haven't turned into anything. His natural position should be in the center of the field where his offense is not really required. He does need to improve his air game on corners...

Saying something positive for the guy, I believe his last two outings have been improvements. Talking about a similarity with Troy, I felt the same thing and maybe even that The Beast is now giving him some extra help.

    Exactly.

Big Troy's absence leaves some large shoes to fill in central defence in the spot alongside Agoos, and Waibel's doing a decent job.

Waibel's not doing that bad of a job, all things considered...

The Quakes do well when they hold the ball and play at their tempo. I'm not saying he's a bad player - just a bit premature on the distribution.

Yeah, that premature pulling of the trigger has been many a man's downfall. Not me of course, but you know, some guys. Or so I hear. ;)

    GO QUAKES!!

He reminds me more of Steve Litt (NASL Quakes 1982-84) than Troy. Litt was near the same size and as strong physically as Waibel. But he really tied himself to the backline and rarely ranged outside the 18-yard box. Given what we've seen of Waibel's passing abilities, maybe he'd be well advised to do the same.

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp While Waibel is no Troy Dayak, at least he's better as a center-back than he is as an outside-back.

    &nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp GO EARTHQUAKES!!! :(

Waibs was on the radio this morning. They teased him about his pointy head. And one of our Club Quake tailgate regulars called in. He told Craig about the guys who had WA, IB, EL, and 16 on their chests. Craig said next time he'll have to find some female groupies to do that for him. :D Then Craigy talked about how he's not easy to like cuz he's mean on the field, just ask Kamler.

Not too much other than that.

Craig has been a huge contributor to the club's success. I think we've done way better with Craig than we would have with another reserve back we had the last couple of years. Not to single ibbybody out.

Craig Waibel is a rock on the right side of defence last year in the MLS CUP Playoffs. Waibel i think is 2 underrated and deserves a call up to the Nationl Team.

Mrs. Waibel....Seriously, WTF? I know you are proud of your son and all.....

I want some of whatever it is you have. Anything to take this pain away and to allow random hallucinations such as this.
