hey, Bsman. Hope all is well with you. I still lurk occasionally, but pretty much moved on from being emotionally invested in the quakes. I did think of you the other night. Was in Albuquerque watching NM United and was thinking you would have done better a better job than the ref for that game!
Good to hear from you! We moved as well - to Madison, WI - and I have a new (USL League One) team we have season tickets for, but I'll also "bleed blue" for the Quakes even though it's probably eventually going to kill me! I'm not reffing right now - in ten days I go in to get my right shoulder reconstructed. Once I recoup from that I hope to be back on the pitch, ruining the game for another generation of players!

Sometimes that's how I feel when I watch our team, especially with the defense and the aimless possession and back passing.
If their goal is to win how come they haven't tried to take better advantage of the DP rule? That seems like the most obvious low hanging fruit than burning through the 7th coach in a row.

Below I'm quoting a comment made 7 years ago. @xbhaskarx summarized the Quakes competitve plan as outlined in the Mercury news in 2015. (I removed some of his other commentary but of course you can click the link for the full context). Obviously what strikes me is that the old plan is basically the same plan we have now. The plan hasn't really worked in the last 7 years. Why do we think it's going to work now?
You have to admit the spin is remarkably similar today. Just change the names and we're hearing the same thing today we heard 7 years ago! "While the Galaxy and some other teams are signing big-named players, San Jose will continue to mine Northern California for talent such as midfielders Tommy Thompson and Marc Pelosi. "With all those weapons in our arsenal we feel we can be an extremely competitive team,"Kaval added."
Kaval and his infatuation with the Galaxy was never unquestioned. He compared us to those Titans every chance he got, usually making us look like retarded door monkeys every chance he got. Everything he did to help was retractive. And we aren't really the same as then. We're 100000x worse. We've tried the Dynamo 2.0 2ith Kinnear We've tried the Euro-trash roster with Starhe We've tried the Chivas USA 2.0 with Almeyda We've tried the Recreactional Bull Shit Bay Area Soccer with Covello And now we're going to try Luchi-Ball which us build from within, hire some vets, and get a couple internationals. He plays conservative press soccer. He relies heavy on the 4-2-3-1 formation with high wing backs. His system will FAIL with the majority of the roster we currently have. We need a roster exodus of about 14 guys.
At least Jesse had the balls to come out and do a post game interview and publicly apologize for the dismal performances.
so, this time around Chris Leitch has been our General Manager for the past season and a half, how do you rate his performance so far?
