Yes. But that ship sailed. The new Ultras section was supposed to be built last offseason, then by mid-season, now ETA next offseason. Also, they were supposed to restore four hour tailgates by now. We're still at three for the foreseeable future. (And, of course, as everyone knows by now, anything less than five hours is insufficient.) It's how things go at Earthquakes Way. Ain't gonna stop me from having fun. #fivehourtailgate
I didn't realize tailgate was limited to 3 hours. I've been mis-understanding your hashtag all this time. I support your cause. Does the Quakes provide security or some other expensive service that makes it prohibitive to increase the time of tailgate? What is the issue?
The parking lots historically opened four hours in advance of kick off until the Cruz Azul friendly last Fall. Per Quakes President Jared Shawlee (who is well aware of my position), SJPD ordered the pregame tailgating reduced to cut down on drinking, which would therefore possibly prevent another gun incident like post-game at the Cruz Azul game (theory being, apparently, guns don't shoot people after games but pre-game drinkers do.) I keep forgetting to bring a handgun to the tailgate. Per Shawlee, SJPD was going to lift the restriction by now. Of course, Quakes have to pay parking attendants and security personnel for the duration, so a reduced tailgating time is less costly. So, little incentive for Fisher to restore four hour tailgates let alone move to five. I believe there should be special passes for the tailgate lot, with earlier entry, and even allowance for all-weekend parking, with RVs. This would induce a special tailgate vibe, much like LOBINA creates its own vibe. It's a secret to keeping fans (like me) happy during multi-year losing stretches. But Quakes are slow on the uptake.
If you are interested watching clips of today's press conference with Chris Leitch, the Earthquakes have made a video available on their YouTube channel here: #Quakes74https://t.co/7hunfuKHA4— JMoore Quakes (@JmooreQuakes) July 19, 2022
Whatever he just said, is not reassuring. Just a bunch of rhetoric! I understood Jesse's Italian , Spanish and German more than Chris Leitch’s English!
I'm being reassured that new players are on the way, so I am going to go ahead and assume it's Jesse Lingard. Or we're going to trade for Jonathan Borenstein. Who knows? Exciting times!
If Chris Leitch was on the ball, Quakes would have had Ronaldo signed by July 7. Amirite, @Quakes05 ?
Ronaldo was the top goal scorer for Manchester United last year so that would work! If Chris Leitch was on the ball, Quakes would've signed somebody by July 7.
somebody with the potential to make our team better would be nice. if Dangerfield can do that, lace 'em up!
If either CR7 or Messi played with the Quakes at 38 years of age, they would probably fail as well. Honestly , I saw Dangerfiled play and he was an exceptional player and much better than any of the current Quakes.. I saw him play in an Over 40 league a few years ago and even though he was age 64, he scored a few killer goals.
I actually played against him 4 or 5 years ago at Evergreen College. He couldn't run, but, he didn't need to. He was about 35 yards out and looked up at the goal. I yelled to my team, "Don't let him shoot!". He buried it in the upper left hand corner.
35-years ago today Rick Astley released 'Never Gonna Give You Up' (1987) … https://t.co/ZmLp0v0XEm— Rex Chapman🏇🏼 (@RexChapman) July 27, 2022
A couple years ago, his game was after my game…he still has it…he was dropping dimes…should have had 3 assists, but his teammates couldn’t finish…crazy skill level, outside of the boot crosses. what team were you playing for at Evergreen?
Speaking of "never gonna give you up", where are those defender signings? I know Astley's probably cashed in a little bit on it, but it must be a drag at some level to be known mainly as a punchline, on the basis of one song really.
Well then Rick might make some coin if he’s hooked up to all the Rickroll videos. I suppose he could hire a team of lawyers to do that but then - there goes the $!
