Yeah, and there are plenty of good players, including lots of intl players, who have MLS experience. And yes, you kind of know what you're getting. But as I said, if they are available, there is usually a reason. We learned that lesson with guys like Gregus and Calvo. Just hoping Bruce has better judgment.
Is there any update on the press conference , i haven't seen anything from the Quakes which is not unusual.

Bruce looks a little rough around the edges and you expect him to be a cranky, completely candid NYer kind of guy, but when he tries to show his softer side, he somehow comes across a bit like a Brooklynite version of Mr. Rogers.

Here's the mlssoccer article that quotes him on some stuff from the press conference. Only thing I got out of that other than the usual boilerplate stuff is that he considers Espinoza to be a tremendous player and Hernán to have "a lot of potential". And that he plans to "assemble a coaching staff", which implies that he's not gonna just take the current staff as is. There's the usual stuff about trying to play the young guys. The article editorializes and mentions Chance Cowell as one name (no, not next year I don't think). Medina maybe, and Emi maybe. Then there's Verhoeven, who was not mentioned but has already played minutes. https://www.mlssoccer.com/news/bruce-arena-takes-the-reins-at-san-jose-fans-are-going-to-see-changes
Well, you gotta find people and they have to be available. As an example, I'm sure he knows Ralston well from USMNT, etc. Whether he thinks well of him as an assistant coach I don't know. Pretty sure he won't be picking Richie Williams.

Lot easier to do that when it's not after a loss . The real test will the post-loss "Aftershock guy" sessions.
I like the "Aftershock" guys, will be interesting to see their relationship/back-and-forth between them and Bruce.....In LA I'ms sure Bruce had a lot of press at the press conferences, in SJ it's the Aftershock crew and maybe 1 or 2 others at most. I guess I've become a negative Nelly, but I don't see this working out Reminds of the Oakland Raiders bringing back former players/coaches to try to find past glories that rarely worked out. But I hope I'm wrong....
