People are forgetting that Quakes draftee Paul Marie saved the Quakes' season with a timely goal at Minnesota only a few months ago.

But boy hes got a foul ass college kid mouth on gaming that makes mine look somewhat tame.

He called someone a diaper sniffing cumquat on COD.

 

For a minute there I thought we’d finally signed our CAM.

His (foreign French) name is Legion.

 

I was hoping and more or less anticipating that we'd sign Beau and Nick, but was starting to wonder. Of course, the Quakes leave it to the last minute to bother announcing it. They've probably planned to sign these guys for a while.

Beau is a guy who was consistently one of the best The Town players last year and has the physicality to play in MLS. He also has a cannon of a mid / long range shot that he scored with 2 or 3 times last year. Nick Fernandez is a guy who caught my eye in the very first preseason game I saw with the Quakes at Coachella this year. The next two games he didn't look as good, but still, he looks like he belongs. Both are 2nd round draft picks. Both are #8's primarily as far as I can tell, but Beau could play the 6 I think.

Leroux is doing well...kudos to Bruce for recognizing the ability and giving him the shot based on merit. Leroux has real confidence, he plays like he belongs, which he absolutely does...
He was highlighted in the MLS young players who stepped up in week 6...pretty cool. I hope he stakes a claim to the acm role.

I was curious what is Beau’s Asian heritage, so I did some googling

• Beau Mathew Lovie Leroux ... Son of Jeremy and Nancy
• Born Aug-31-2003
• 3 years at SJSU
• Santa Teresa HS
• Played for Ramiro Corrales’ SC Breakers
• Looks like his mom may be Nancy Tsai LeRoux

so maybe Beau is half Chinese? I couldn’t find any confirmation of that…

 

It was also somewhat bothering to read this thread for the first time and see that Kaitlyn claimed to have played with him and talked about how he smelled. Weird to read that in the context of what we know now. Sorry to bring up that name again…

 

I think his mom is Filipina but I’m not sure. Yeah the “Kaitlyn” posts about Beau were weird at best and all over the place.

 

Yeah, when I looked at Nancy Leroux’s photo on linked in, i thought maybe she was Filipina… guess I will ask Beau myself if I ever get a chance.
