Yes! Forget #draftforneed and #draftforbestplayer, we went back to #draftforname. I'm assuming "Beau Leroux" rhymes. Excellent. Possibly one of our highest quality names since Shea Salinas.

Isn't it pronounced Bo LeRoo (long o, long u)?

Dang, I think you're right. My French is weak. I think "oux" is like an "oo"? So Boh LeROO?

However, it does rhyme with "welcome to the Black and Blue, Bo LeRoux!"

BEAUU!!!!! I played with him at pickup!! he's a great kid, VERY VERY fast. He's a smart player too and he smells really really good. He plays a lot of Call of Duty and Fortnite :ROFLMAO:

He's not going to be a banger for goals or assists but he will distribute the ball to the guys who can make those plays. He's better then his college stat line says, and I hope he succeeds with us.

Did I mention he smells fantastic? He was wearing a old school Ronnie O'Brien jersey at pickup. There's a couple other SJSU guys I'd like us to have as well.

He isn't MLS ready yet with his decision making. He will need to improve his rate of distribution and reactions to compete at MLS Level.

The SJSU guys playing at pickup were calling him Roo.

From his coach, Simon Tobin: "After two solid seasons Beau is primed to be one of the top attacking talents at this level. A truly two footed midfielder that can drift past opponents with ease when at the top of his game."

He's also a little on the tall side for a mid - 6'.

Hmmm. In playing about 45 yrs, I don't remember playing with someone and thinking "they smell good". Glad to her the positive aspects, but the Quakes have not had a good record lately as you noted in a prior post.

To be honest, I don't think those guys passed the smell test.

There have been more than a couple who've engendered the opposite thought in me...

Although I do remember a team from the west indies and africa (variously known as the islanders or all blacks) in the >35s many of whom had a distinctly herbacious aroma that was not unpleasant...

Was that one of those games where you actually get high from 2nd hand residual smoke fumes emanating from your opponent? :) Good times!

I checked the usual online suspects, and everyone seems super excited that we snagged Beau.

He's not going to change the game for us, but of all our draft picks I am a bit curious how he turns out.

As I said he needs to get some seasoning before he's first team ready, he's about a step slower than the MLS at its lowest level of talent in game decisions and anticipation. But that comes with training at a higher level.

So you are thinking some Quakes 2 time and we see how he does? Also will he finish his NCAA eligibility or will he go into preseason is a good question to find out about.

Would like as much info because not gonna lie wasn't the most enthusiastic especially with someone like Sylla still on the board but lets see what happens

I don't know if he's going to commit to us or finish his senior year, I'd suspect him to finish his senior year if he doesn't make the first team straight away. He isn't going to be one of our top guys, far from it, but yes Sylla and others would have been great picks instead of him.

    Q2 for sure.

We will not win MLS Cup because of this guy.

I think the days of ANY college draftee coming in and dominating the league on its ear are long gone.

Ha! yes! the Islanders are South Bay legends...definitely Caribbean...I thought mostly Jamaican...Roger and Junior were two of the best players I've ever played against. You are absolutely right on the aroma...they would have a tent on the sideline just billowing the sweetest smelling smoke. My buddies and I still talk about how crazy that was for the 80s...they didn't get a rats ass about it.

This is the only place he has ever been known as that, and AFAIK you are the only humanoid who has ever called him that. A lot of people find him remarkably unremarkable...

I can’t help it if no one else in the world recognizes the utter dominance brought down upon the universe by one Tanner “The Beas(t)” Beason !!!
