Nick Fernandez not exactly showing off Peruvian street cred there. I wonder if he can speak any Spanish.

He's from Downers Grove, a pretty bougie southwest suburb of Chicago..and went to college in Portland. I wonder if we'll end up seeing him play for Peru though, would be cool if it happens.

Don't recall them selling sparking water in the concession stands.

Since I don't drink soda and really don't drink beer, this sort of stuff (sparkling water) is my one concession to otherwise only drinking water, coffee, and the occasional iced tea. FYI, La Crois is from La Crosse and I remember when it was only available in Wisconsin and surrounding states.

We're a year or 2 late with this. Could have gone for Pellegrino. Maybe we'll sign Thierry La Croix now.

I hear Houston Dynamo just got a lower back of kit ass-wipe sponsor. Part of the league’s “well take it from here” initiative, no doubt.

Oh, no, this is embarrassing. I thought it was The Onion or April Fools or something, but apparently it's real...

    https://www.sjearthquakes.com/news/...-announce-official-back-of-jersey-partnership

The Dude Wipes guy makes a joke of the whole thing..

"We've always believed the best partnerships happen when you don't take yourself too seriously,” said Ryan Meegan, Co-Founder and CMO of DUDE Wipes. “Landing on the back of the Earthquakes jersey feels pretty fitting for a brand that always has your back. From matchday activations to celebrating every clean sheet, we're excited to bring some extra laughs—and a whole lot of wipes—to Quakes fans.”

But Jared is dead serious as always!!...

"We are excited to announce our new partnership with DUDE Wipes," said Earthquakes President Jared Shawlee. "DUDE Wipes is a rapidly burgeoning national brand and we look forward to introducing a number of activations together to support our local community and enhance the fan experience at PayPal Park.

BTW, what kind of "matchday activations" of "Dude Wipes" are we talking about here? :eek

I'm just worried about what might kinds of "matchday activations" for the fans might require the use of "Dude Wipes". Perhaps they'll partner with Taco Bell? Two free burritos and a couple of Dude Wipes for the 1st 5,000 fans?

One thing for sure is that I’m not buying a jersey that has “Dude Wipes” on the back. That’s a hard pass.

We haven’t even gotten to how these things clog up pipes and sewers if people flush them as they suggest.

We can certainly all think of more tasteless partnerships...but why?

Yes, it could in fact be (a little) worse:

The agreement expands beyond the jersey to include community programming, matchday activations, digital content and fan engagement initiatives across Houston, including the partnership's tagline, "Space City has Uranus covered."
