earthquake content This is the craziest shit I’ve ever seen. Fault rupture in the Myanmar quake pic.twitter.com/rE1cI9rav8— Justin🦩Boldaji (@justinboldaji) May 13, 2025 Tom Bogert watchability rankings https://www.givemesport.com/tom-bogert-mls-watchability-rankings/ 6 San Jose Earthquakes — 32 points Did you know the San Jose Earthquakes lead the league in xG (by FIVE goals?)? Did you know the San Jose Earthquakes had the worst xGA before the Galaxy’s 7-0 loss to RBNY? Their combined goals scored (26) plus goals against (20) is the highest in the league. Yup, expect goals and chaos in Quakes games. They are the clear #MLSAfterDark gold medal winner this year. San Jose has often rated higher in this exercise than the league table, and while that remains true in 2025, at least the team is much more competitive than recent years. Cristian Espinoza is a bonafide star and the strike-partnership of Chicho Arango and Josef Martinez is working quite well. Dare I say this is easily the best Josef has looked since tearing his ACL in 2020. Long may it continue for an MLS legend.
Not sure where to put this... just saw this ticket product at Costco (https://i.imgur.com/1Ocr2ES.jpeg):
“Exclusive: MLS commissioner Garber talks Messi, Apple TV deal and John Fisher” (San Jose Mercury News - Tuesday, 5/13/25) MLS commissioner Don Garber arrives for a ceremony unveiling the official branding for the 2026 World Cup on Wednesday at the Griffith Observatory. "This year, and the last couple of years, there’s a lot to be excited about with the Earthquakes, for sure.” Does Grabs know that we were an historically bad wooden spoon team last year and set a record for goals allowed? And paying $3M for Carlos Gruezo is nothing to be proud of. It's a mark of shame.
While you're right on both points (except that his point with the Gruezo thing was just that we've broken our own transfer record twice meaning Fisher is spending more, not that Gruezo was actually a good signing), you don't think it's impressive that the league commissioner can rattle off so many facts about or historically barely relevant team, even if only doing so in defense of the owner? A lot of our own fans wouldn't be able to give such a detailed response. Actually now that I think about it, whether or no the answer is impressive depends on if it was a face to face live interview (even if he prepped beforehand knowing the question was coming) or submitted questions (meaning responses filled out by pr flacks at the league office)... Garber: “John doesn’t get enough credit for the things he’s done to bring the team back to San Jose when it moved to Houston in 2006. He’s built and privately financed a stadium. He believes very much in the club and is doing everything he can over time to ensure that the Earthquakes matter, that they deliver value for their fans and he’s done the best he can over the years to put a good team on the field. “If you look at what’s happened most recently, they broke a club record for their transfer fee over the last two years, what they’ve done with Carlos (Gruezo) in 2023 and Hernán López in 2024. To have Bruce Arena, who arguably is the most legendary coach in U.S. soccer history, to both be their coach and sporting director … They hired this really terrific player in Chicho Arango (in a trade with Real Salt Lake) and they brought in Josef Martinez. This year, and the last couple of years, there’s a lot to be excited about with the Earthquakes, for sure.”
It was in the center portion, left side of the isle (facing the cashiers from the middle) front third. This was in Almaden, FYI.
Just watched this Mother's Day edition of Quakes Exclusive. In a cynical world, just something very nice and positive. It's basically Espinoza and Bruno talking about their wives, in front of their wives, about what they mean to them and their families. Interesting that Bruno and his wife spoke in Spanish. I guess maybe she is Spanish? Or maybe they chose Spanish rather than Portuguese because they figured they'd reach more people that way? Also I notice that Quakes Exclusive is not bothering to provide subtitles for the Spanish or Portuguese speaking. Somehow I was able to understand most of what Bruno and his wife said. It was kind of easy Spanish and not too fast. https://tv.apple.com/us/episode/qua...q2s6?showId=umc.cmc.60i42bx9horm9ufztlikoviv3

Our 3-4-3 is not helping with the categorization of players. Espinoza is an AM (only two slots) and Beau is a DM (only one slot). We have no one list for RB.
Espinoza should be listed as a forward in their 4-3-3. They've got dual amid's in their setup, like a 4-1-2-3. Beau should be one of the 2 AM's behind the forwards if that's how they're gonna set it up. Our 3-4-3 doesn't really have an AM proper. And he's not a DM sitting in front of the back line. Jones should be in there as RB (close enough).
Matt Doyle: MLS Midseason Awards: Top players, best transfers & more Chico (11g+a) and Josef (8) don't get a mention for best transfers / trades... Midfielder of the Year 3. Beau Leroux - San Jose Earthquakes I can’t remember the last time a player I had never heard of before First Kick won a starting job. And I don’t think there’s ever been a time a player I’d never heard of before First Kick won a starting job and was instantly one of the handful of best players in the league at his spot. For those who haven’t watched the Quakes… you should, they’re fun as hell. Leroux is Berhalter-esque in a lot of ways, though probably better on the ball in tight spots and not as good of a long-range distributor. Goalkeeper of the Year 3. Daniel - San Jose Earthquakes The Quakes play at about a 60-point clip when he’s on the field, and they play at about a 30-point clip when he’s not. Daniel's shot-stopping is the biggest reason why, but he’s also almost doubled his interventions outside the box per 90, as well as the percentage of crosses he’s claiming. That’s made him more commanding, which San Jose have desperately missed when he’s not out there.
Galaxy supporters won't travel to the Cali Clasico at Stanford. https://www.footboom1.com/en/news/f...ncel-trip-to-san-jose-amid-ice-raids-concerns
I'm wondering what the effect of the ICE raids will be on the 9/13 game at Levi's, which is scheduled to be Mexican Heritage Night, with celebration of Mexican culture, etc. I anticipate the ICE stuff to last for many months if not years.
