Thanks for posting some clips @ChicagoFutbol, just don't expect any sort of an intelligent or even relevant response around here....

Do you think the new Berhalter-led Fire have any interest in correcting the mistakes of the previous regime and offering him a homegrown deal?

We could use a whole field of tiny Dikas.

    "Is Ditka driving da bus?"

They're all good in this, but Farley is particularly good. They get in a little dig on San Fransico at the end.

No problem Dude! I like the homework assignment. I think Berhalter does his homework too.

Also, I wanted to share a resource for the next ping pong match you find yourself in that pays homage to your byline...

Gregg is a smart guy, he'll probably sign the kid and this will all be moot (not that I even suggested the Quakes draft him, just that MLS should offer him a GA deal).
It's like Lenin said, you look for the person who will benefit, and, uh, uh, you know...

Another Coen brothers reference might be more appropriate
Eddie Dane: How'd you get the fat lip?
Tom Reagan: Old war wound. Acts up around morons.

I'd wager that at least one of the draftees will be worth more than $350k no?
In 3 yrs if Colorado do their homework they should be able to draft one decent player that they'd be able to flip for more than that.

Usually Philly doesn't have good draft picks but because they were bad this year this includes the #8 pick.

Who knows if it will amount to anything, the draft is still a total crapshoot.

Having said that, four of the five most undervalued MLS contracts in 2024 were draft picks:

For 2024, the top five standout players include Andrew Privett (Charlotte FC), Jackson Ragen (Seattle Sounders), Luca Orellano (FC Cincinnati), Max Arfsten (Columbus Crew), and Lucas Bartlett (DC United). Interestingly, four of these five players were drafted through or connected to the MLS SuperDraft, highlighting its potential as a valuable platform for uncovering underappreciated talent.

The 2025 MLS SuperDraft, for collegiate players entering the professional game, will take place on December 20. The combine happens next week with the draft’s top talent.

One player to keep an eye on is Wisconsin Badgers freshman forward Dean Boltz. Sources say he’s in the mix for a potential Generation adidas (GA) contract, given by MLS to each year’s top potential draft picks.

Boltz had 10 goals and four assists in 15 matches and was named to the Top Drawer Soccer Best XI Freshman Team.

3.7% success rate... of course that's for the whole draft, the Quakes have the #2 pick so their odds are much higher

And the Quakes have 2 of those 13 players - Beason and Munie. Beason was very close to being one of the 6 with 2000+ in his first year (1900-something), and then logged over 2000 the next year. Munie was over 1000 this year. So the Quakes are 3% of the total # of teams and have 5x that percentage - 15% of the "successful" draft picks. Maybe CB depth is the way to go in the draft?

From 1996 to 1999, the league annually held two separate drafts: the MLS College Draft and the MLS Supplemental Draft.

They were finally combined for the 2000 season onward as one big SuperDraft… and here we are.

    GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!!

Not against it and as Jazzy point it out it's more than 1 goal per game.
Thing is he'll be 24 yrs old by the time MLS season begins. That's pretty damn old for a rookie in fútbol. He obviously figured out & dominated college ball but will that translate to the pros? That's my worry. Then again a team like ours is not going to spend much so maybe take a chance?

24 years old is prime for futbol players, he'll not need a ton of incorporation to adjust to the league, he's ready now. Take the chance.

He's never played at the highest level. He'll be going up against "grown ass men" as Eddie Johnson once famously said. Again I'm not against it but far from being a sure thing. College to the pros is a big jump but I'd rather give this dude a shot than drafting another stanford dud.
