If the rankings were done back in September then not much data to rank the Wisconsin guy at the top either, and besides team performance not equal to individual performance. Bottom line is if we’re going to use the rankings then we should use them on both players.
Sorry about that. There would have been no “ping pong match” if xbhaskarx hadn’t called me out for having the audacity to post a highlight video of TT as a freshman at Indiana, since the topic of college freshmen had come up.
I'm not going to "apologize for" posting a blast from the past video about possibly the Quakes only ever college freshman signing since we were, you know, talking about the possibility of signing a college freshman? Yes it's a bit of a tangent, like we've never had tangents before on Quakes BigSoccer? And I'm not the one who resorted to pathetic homophobic slurs to try to make my "point".
Thompson was a homegrown signing, he wasn't selected in the draft, genius What homophobic slurs, are you mentally ill???
The point is that we signed a college freshman, you know a player in his first year of college? This isn't really that hard. {edited by TS}
{Edited by TS} But that's fine, an easy solution is to put you on ignore since there's nothing of value to be gained from these interactions
Literally every player on the Quakes is a man, it's a men's soccer team. The thing the list of former Quakes players (Mike Fucito, JJ Koval, Kip Kolvey, Adam Jahn, Tommy Thompson, etc.) you "stan" (to use another slang term for it) is not that they're men and you hype them up because you're a homosexual (because again, EVERY F'ING PLAYER IS A MAN) but that they're a bunch of try hard white dudes with limited talent, the equivalent of baseball announces praising David Eckstein because he "plays the game the right way" or whatever, it's doesn't take a genius to figure out what they love about him. In any case, ignored.
If defense of the obscene term you used to describe my association with Quakes players is the hill you want to die on, yeah, go for it. I've said positive things about many Quakes players over the years, including Baca, Wondo, Marvin Chavez, 2011-12 Simon Dawkins, Espinoza, Hernán, etc. The fact that you are cherry-picking certain ones says more about you than it does me. FWIW not sure I ever really repped JJ Koval or Mike Fucito. Not sure where that's even coming from.
I was a Cards fan from first grade until about 2010 - then I switched to the Giants. Currently, I'm teamless - perhaps I'll start following the Brewers?
I don't believe this accurate. Boltz is in the college transfer portal. Needs to get to ACC for development. Borso to MLS/Europe. Same reason.

Do your homework
Never said he wasn’t a good prospect, or that he somehow had 0 other goals or assists. But I needed more than “top rated high school recruit” and “85th ranked freshman by Top Drawer Soccer”, and 1 goal highlight, bro. Thanks for the info. Love the passion, bro, chasing Borso references all over BigSoccer, but context is everything. I don’t care much about Borso one way or another and he’s going to Chicago anyway(?). It's not a shocker to me that he had more highlights than just one in his college career or Next/Pro career. I only got into this because someone was disparaging me for doing a blast from the past - a video of a top-ranked freshman that we signed years ago, in reference to the whole "JUST.A.FRESHMAN" thing, It was a similar situation. A guy we had in our academy who was raking in his 1st year in college. We signed him to an HG contract after his freshman year and he played many years for us, but could never translate that college success to the pros. Hope you have better luck.
This thread has become the ultimate BigSoccer keyboard warrior nerdfest. The winner gets the satisfaction that comes with pwning, I guess...
Yes, San Jose is a mess. Can't seem to get out of their own way. I hope the new regimes at both clubs take care of the kids, as the Bay area and Chicago are hot beds for football talent.
