Watched that in real time - ugly as hell. The Brz player is lucky he didn’t suffer a bad break or sprain. That was crimson red - no argument.
Feyenoord just signed him and your comment on him is reassuring. Let's see how he does in the Champions League.

Inter Miami is not Argentina, but Shaffelburg has scored against Messi's team - a brace even. https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1181620656133116
You mean those baby-blue-and-white striped shirts aren't Miami's third kit? Who's gonna break it to Garber?
I won't "cry for you", Canada. Got a little tired of Jesse Marsch dancing on the US's grave. Yes, he's got bragging rights over the US in this tournament. But if CA had beaten Argentina we'd never hear the end of it. Ever. I hope Colombia beats Uruguay. I'd like to see a Colombia / Argentina final, especially one where Colombia wins .
Apparently USA's early exit cost Greg his job....https://www.ussoccer.com/stories/20...mens-national-team-head-coach-gregg-berhalter
Please God I don’t want to see his name connected in a Quake’s coaching search. Luchi 2.0 and another two years of completely wasting time. Move forward with Ian Russell, not an endless cycle of retreads.
Luis Suarez, what a head case. I'm guessing he's the one that went into the crowd after the match to go after some Columbia fans.
Holy crap, Colombia is a physical team. They go hard into every challenge, and they're fast and strong and never give up. No wonder they beat the crap out of the US in that friendly. The ref really swallowed his whistle in that one otherwise there'd be a foul every minute.
I remember first watching Uruguay during the 1986 World Cup. At that time they were considered the dirtiest team in the tournament. They played well during the 2010 WC and I believe won the Copa America the year after but seemed to always have a team of thugs. I’m not sure how much they will care about the third place game against Canada but I’m betting their fouls will continue.
Well, there's Suarez, but generally I didn't feel like they are a thuggish team. Still amazing to me that a tiny country of 3 million people can compete with teams in South America with populations 10-15x or even like 70x (Brazil) the population of Uruguay. Ruiz blew a lot of chances for Uruguay but that guy Uribe(?) on Colombia missed wide open chances twice late in the game.
Uruguay has a very rich soccer history, even predating the World Cup era, so it’s not surprising to me that they continually punch above their weight.
Yeah, I'm wondering how they got the rich soccer history in the first place though. I mean the European equivalent would be a country like Liechtenstein or Malta being a country with a rich soccer history that continues to be one of the top teams in the region and beats teams like Germany and France. Some explanation here: https://sports.yahoo.com/how-tiny-uruguay-became-a-soccer-giant-050027599.html#:~:text=It's a “really great, very,so many elite soccer players.
Only saw about the last 20 minutes. There was a graphic at the end of the game that showed the number of fouls: Colombia 13, Uruguay 11. Either the ref swallowed his whistle or the statistics guy fell asleep.
Yeah, I just thought the ref really let a lot of stuff go. There were just tons of hard challenges for the ball, many of which would usually result in fouls but not as much tonight.
