No thanks - in that respect I'm thankful for the current administration's stance toward the north, lol.

I highly doubt that will happen. It also doesn't make sense as that means only 4 teams in the AFC will be represented.

Nah, if that happened AFC will appoint the 6th team to represent Asia, I think.

Only way they can make it exciting is if both teams bring their best players.

Otherwise, I don't see the 90s rivalry of Jamshil/Yoyogi days coming back.

The squad for the Iraq (friendly) and North Korea (qualifer) matches should be announced around the 23rd.

We have Kwak Tae-hwi (Jeonnam) and Jo Young-hyung (Jeju) out injured. Kim Jung-woo (Seongnam) is suspended. Lee Geun-ho (?) and Jo Won-hee (Wigan) have yet to settle with their teams, although it wouldn't be impossible to call them.

Any ideas on how to fill these voids? This article mentions Kang Min-soo (Jeju), Kwak Hee-joo (Suwon), Kim Chi-gon (Seoul), Lee Jung-soo (Kyoto), and Hwang Jae-won (Pohang) for centerbacks.

Perhaps Kim Dong-Jin could move from left back to center back if necessary. Kim Chi-Gon and Cho Byung-Kuk are also possibilities. Kang Min-Soo is a lock to start with Cho Yong-Hyung injured.

I wonder if Ki Sung-Yong will move up to take Kim Jung-Woo's position? And up front, I hope Jung Sung-Hoon doesn't play. Even if Lee Geun-Ho doesn't get called up, I'd take Park Chu-Young, Ahn Jung-Hwan, Lee Dong-Gook, and even Cho Jae-Jin ahead of him.

leave out triple sh1t we don't need him for another decade, Ahn Jung Hwan still doesn't have a club so he will not be able to make the squad. Lee Dong Gook is a possibility but I'd rather have him against Saudi Arabia and Iran when we really need to kill it off so instead have Park Ju Young, Choi Sung Kuk, Shin Young Rok and Jung Sung Hun. in midfield double dragon, Kim Hyung Beom, Kim Nam Il and Kim Chi Woo playing on the left flank while on the back Kim Dong Jin on LB, both Cho Byung Kuk and Lee Jung Soo in center and Oh Beom Seok on RB.

Cho Byung-Kuk definitely deserves a callup. And perhaps Baek Ji-Hoon could play in the midfield. And why not call up Seo Dong-Hyun as a reserve striker? Let Shin Young-Rok stay with Bursaspor and Choi Sung-Kuk might be busy with Gwangju and his military duty.
