For one match only, Martin Sjögren left the central midfield role to Ingrid Engen alone with Vilde Bøe Risa resting on the bench, and added extra fire power up front. Isabell Herlovsen broke Marianne Pettersen's goalscoring record for Norway when she completed her hat-trick with her 67th goal. Caro Hansen also scored a hat-trick tonight and contributed with further five assists. Highlights to follow.
Goals and highlights from the Faroe game still haven't surfaced. Feel free to post if you find something. Isabell Herlovsen is the new all-time top scorer for Norway after yesterday's hat-trick, but Marianne Pettersen's goals per game average is hard to beat. No further details available per club. Below you can see a set-up of how the economy is in each club. Green is healthy economy, yellow is decent and red means trouble. You could be in danger of being fined or lose points on the table if you stay in the red zone for too long.
wow, Dagny, my fav! She scored the OLY gold medal "golden" goal in the 2000 final against the USA off an assist from Hege Riise. Watching her play, was a quiet, unassuming football goddess with a dagger attached to her leg. She was so efficient ; she only played for six years and looking at her ratio, she easily would've broken the record had she continued to play. P.S. Cecilie Pedersen could've been on the list had she played more for the WNT.
Poetic! Dagny Mellgren.. one of those great players we never got to see everything from. Retired in her mid-twenties because of a knee-injury just when she was about to hit her prime. I also agree, Dagny would have been the record goalscorer had she stayed fit. Probably Norway's best export to America. Didn't she finish top scorer in the league over there? I know so little about her impact in that folded league WUSA(?) or what it was named. Not much social media or Youtube to enjoy back in those days.
Yes, Dagny played for the Boston Breakers in the WUSA. Several other Norwegians were here too, including Hege Riise (who won a championship here and scored a goal in that game with the Carolina Courage back then with German team mate Birget Prinz) ; Raggs Gulbrandsen played here too. I think there was one or more that were here, too (Unni Lehn maybe was also on the Carolina team ?). Dagny played with American legend Kristine Lilly on Boston team. I know Dagny scored a hat trick or two with Boston. What memories.

The race for that second Champions League spot is heating up with Vålerenga dropping points against Røa. Sandviken are now just one point behind. Kolbotn are in free fall. They've won only one of their last eight matches since losing Sævik to PSG, and now find themselves dragged down in the relegation battle. The race to avoid that relegation play-off spot is exciting. I like the fact that you call the team Juvisy instead of Paris FC: it's only us old timers doing that.
More by coincidence than judgement on my part, to be honest. The club is still listed as Juvisy on Google's coverage of D1 Feminine.

Their seventh Toppserien title, a shared record with Trondheims-Ørn. A late equalizer against Kolbotn gave LSK the point they needed to win the title two rounds before the end. They've managed to squeeze out wins in tight games especially after the World Cup, and haven't scored nearly as many goals as in previous years. Other teams are slowly catching up, but top players leaving the country for bigger leagues is also a challenge. Coach Hege Riise admits LSK need a bunch of new signings if the club wants to compete for real in the Champions League. The next transfer window will be interesting. Vålerenga tightened the grip on that second CL spot when Sandviken lost at Avaldsnes. At the bottom, it now looks quite clear that Lyn will take the relegation play-off spot. Around 4000 tickets have been sold for the Norway - Northern Ireland match in Stavanger. That's considerably better than I expected at this stage, two weeks before kick-off. NM Cup semi-final Trondheims-Ørn 0 - 2 LSK Kvinner Thorsnes 45+2, Åsland 90+3 Watch full match on NRK LSK Kvinner through to the cup final after a hard fought win with late goals in each half in this televised live match. Elise Thorsnes was the decisive player with a goal and a nice assist. T-Ørn were pushed back for most of the match, but wasted an unbelievable chance to equalize late in the game. LSK deserved to win based on chances created, and will meet the winner of Sunday's semi-final between Arna Bjørnar and Vålerenga.
NM Cup semi-final Arna Bjørnar 1 - 4 Vålerenga Asom 8 - Pedersen 21, Njoya 74, 79, 85 [Highlights] [Full game on NRK] This was an entertaining game which looked very even in the first half. Not much indicated the home team struggled for survival in Toppserien, and the visitors in second place on the table. But the tide turned in the second half with the Cameroonian star forward Ajara Njoya leading the way with a hat-trick in 11 minutes. Less furtune for another African, Ngozi Ebere of A-B, who had to be carried off with a knee-injury. No news on how serious it is. This Vålerenga win sets up an ideal cup final between Norway's two best teams at the moment. VIF and LSK also happen to be arch rivals, which indicates we might have record attendances in the cup final. It will be interesting to see the ticket sales in the coming weeks.
Since the World Cup, this player has been more and more impressive! Do you think she can manage to lead her team to beating LSK-Kvinner in the final match, @Bauser?
Yes, I believe she can. LSK have not been this vulnerable and beatable in years. I look very much forward to this cup final. It could be a symbolic shift in power in Norwegian woso if Vålerenga win. Sure, LSK are already league champions, but a cup final win for Vålerenga will give them a big boost going into the transfer winter. Last year LSK were 28 points better than VIF in the league, and this year it's only 7 with two rounds to go. VIF have actually been three points better than LSK after the World Cup break. VIF are going places with financial backing and with a clear plan to dethrone LSK. The upcoming transfer window will be exciting. Both clubs have to strengthen their squads for the Champions League. I wonder what kind of players they can attract.
Ada Hegerberg is now the all-time top scorer in the Champions League - and at the age of 24. Her 53 goals have come against: 9 - Medyk Konin 8 - BIIK Kazygurt 5 - Ryazan VDV 4 - Atletico Madrid 4 - Barcelona 4 - Fortuna Hjørring 3 - Avaldsnes 3 - Zürich 2 - Ajax 2 - Brøndby 2 - Paris Saint-Germain 2 - Slavia Prague 2 - Torres 2 - Wolfsburg 1 - Brescia Per season: 2012-13: 2 (for Stabæk) 2013-14: 2 (For Turbine Potsdam) 2014-15: 1 2015-16: 13 2016-17: 4 2017-18: 15 2018-19: 7 2019-20: 9 - She was top scorer in the tournament 2015-16 and 2017-18. - Her 15 goals in 2017-18 is a record for one season. It's under attack this season... If Ada ever gets tired of winning with Lyon, I can see her moving to America for a new challenge. A return to the national team has not been up to debate for quite some time now.

Stabæk and Fart go down and Lyn will go to relegation play-off against the winner from Level 2 as Toppserien is cut from 12 to 10 clubs for 2020. Fart, shockingly enough, managed to upset a full strength LSK and beat the champions on their own turf on the day they were handed the league championship trophy - talk about party-spoilers. There is still drama in the race to finish runners-up on the table and grab that second Champions League spot. Vålerenga had that spot in the palm of their hand today until the very last second of the game when Avaldsnes equalized. Now the farmers from Klepp can still create problems for the ambitious Vålerenga project on the last matchday. Sandviken also let in a goal in stoppage time today against Kolbotn which ended their chances to finish runners-up.
