Well, interesting how they decided to add another 2-2 to the previous 2-2, to basically obtain the same final outcome. :giggle:

Mijatovic's lob was classy, but I can't help digging the way Nchout uses to clamly dribble her opponent before shooting in goal with maximum accuracy; it's not a case that she was one of the candidates for this year's Puskas Award: her goal at the WWC epitomized this kind of approach she has to the shots in the box.

    Frisbie 64 - Nautnes 4

A good week for the championship race. Vålerenga came from behind twice to beat Sandviken away in one of the two top matches. Njoya match-winner with a classic "no celebration" when scoring against former team mates. Klepp drew with LSK in the other top match, but should have won based on scoring chances. First win for Stabæk this season. Teenager Lillegård nets another for Lyn, and Synne Jensen rises to the top of the scoring charts with her hat-trick.

Is it usual for Norwegian highlights, even when they are very long and detailed like these ones, not to show the fouls leading to PKs? :cautious: Also, the video was cut without showing if the foul against the GK was given, in that final action, and if any card was issued.

No, this video was poorly edited. They usually show the foul leading up to the PK. But sometimes this one-camera-coverage can be a problem if the foul isn't picked up by it. In that final sequence, Vålerenga goalkeeper Seabert was given a yellow card.

We need a new Norwegians abroad update now after the start of the continental season. A big bunch of players to follow.

    ENGLAND
    Guro Reiten
and Maren Mjelde played 90 mins for Chelsea as they drew 1-1 away at Brighton on Sunday. Maria Thorisdottir came on as a late sub. Reiten (forward) and Mjelde (right back) seem to be first choice options in the starting line-up so far, with Reiten given extra responsibility on set pieces with her accurate left foot. Thorisdottir is struggling with game time at the moment.

Amalie Eikeland and Kristine Leine both started for Reading as they lost 2-0 at home against Manchester City. New signing Lisa Marie Utland has only been there a few days and started on the bench, but played the last 30 mins.

Cecilie Redisch Kvamme started on the bench for the second game in a row, but played 27 mins as her club West Ham beat Birmingham 1-0 at home. She has replaced Erin Simon in both games.

The only goalkeeper to leave Norway for England, Aurora Mikalsen remained on the bench when Manchester United lost 1-0 to Arsenal tonight.

    FRANCE
    Karina Sævik
started for PSG and played 66 mins in their 4-0 home win against Dijon. She played all 90 mins away at Braga in the Champions League in the midweek. She has been on the bench a bit also in the beginning, but PSG rotate quite a lot. Ada Hegerberg shockingly enough didn't score in Lyon's 6-0 win against Fleury, but had a couple of assists instead, and is joint top scorer in the league on five goals after three rounds.

    GERMANY
    Ingrid Engen
played 90 mins as Wolfsburg beat Hoffenheim 3-0 on Sunday. Kristine Minde came on as a sub in the last twenty mins. Engen started on the bench to begin with this season and has struggled with an arm injury, but seems to be back now. Still early to tell whether she'll be a regular starter for Wolfsburg. The competition is stiff. Minde seems more comfortable about her rotation role in the squad.

    ITALY
    Stine Hovland
's Milan beat Andrine Hegerberg's Roma 3-0 away on the opening matchday of Serie A. Both Norwegians played 90 mins.

    SPAIN
    Caro Hansen
and Barcelona only managed a 1-1 draw away at Rayo Vallecano in the second round of the Spanish League on Sunday, but Caro has started well in her new club with stellar performances away at Juventus in the Champions League and the 9-1 demolishon of Tacon on the opening day. Much like at Wolfsburg, Caro is first in line at set-pieces for Barcelona, but not penalties.

    SWEDEN
    Vilde Bøe Risa
played 60 mins in Kopparberg Göteborg's 2-0 loss at home to Rosengård this weekend. Vilde has struggled with fatigue recently after full games for club and country over a long period of time, and missed the Bayern game recently. Her club is currently fourth in Damallsvenskan. Frida Maanum and Linköping are only sixth placed now after losing 1-0 at home to Eskilstuna. Frida played the full 90 mins. Swedish champions Piteå are in even worse state, currently only seventh. June Pedersen and Andrea Norheim both started for Piteå in their 4-1 win against Växjö.

Martin Sjögren has selected his squad today for Norway's two Euro qualifying matches away against Belarus (04 Oct) and Faroe Islands (08 Oct).

Only one player missing since the last selection and that's the retired Ingrid Hjelmseth. Four new players are brought in including three uncapped players. Aurora Mikalsen is moved up in the goalkeeper trio in Hjelmseth's absence. Central defender Ina Gausdal is brought back in. Milan's Stine Hovland is therefore not selected. Midfielder Lisa Naalsund has been with the squad earlier, but not gained an official cap yet. Debutant Rikke Nygard is the most interesting selection. She is a 19 year-old central midfielder who has been through pretty much every youth NT, so the senior team was a natural next step on the ladder. Looking forward to see her.

I would say it's quite controversial to leave out Toppserien's top scorer Synne Jensen, at the same time as Elise Thorsnes is considered good enough. Sjögren found room for Nygard, but I would also have liked to see Runa Lillegård up front against teams like Belarus and Faroe Islands. Emilie Nautnes was also overlooked this time. Injury-prone Isabell Herlovsen was preferred over her.

    TOPPSERIEN 2019 - Postponed matches

    Lyn 2 - 3 Avaldsnes
    Linberg 74, Bækkelund 88 - Tvedten 15, Utvik 21, 23

    Stabæk 2 - 0 Kolbotn
    Bjånesøy 23, 90(p)

Avaldsnes are on a good run now, four straight wins, but too late to fight for European spots. Lyn haven't won since May and have to watch out because Stabæk have woken up from the dead with two straight wins. The old powerhouse have reengaged in the quest to stay alive in Toppserien. Who would have thought that after the awful spring season? LSK won and have opened up a seven point gap at the top. They host second placed Sandviken on Saturday. Only a Sandviken win will keep the title race alive.

The trend in Europe is finally coming to Norway. Rosenborg, Norway's biggest football club, are going into woso now. At the moment they are having positive meetings about taking over Trondheims-Ørn in Toppserien from 2020. T-Ørn will cease to exist when/if Rosenborg take over. The deal should be finalized in December.

This will definitely be a game changer. Toppserien has been so Oslo dominated for years, but Rosenborg from Trondheim will have pulling power to attract a lot of top players to change that. I will follow this story closely in the weeks to come.

    ----

@59Amerinorsk - Haavi is out until at least next summer.

It will be nigh on impossible to catch LSK now after their confident home win vs Sandviken. They were easily the best team on the day and deserved the three points. Vålerenga are tightening the grip on that second CL spot as inconsistent Klepp suffer a surprise defeat away at Lyn. Avaldsnes' revival is remarkable, fifth win in a row. The big drama seems to be at the bottom regarding the play-off spot.

Sandviken predictably won the Bergen-derby. Brochmann scored against her former club and is now one of six players in the league on double digits of Toppserien goals this season. Klepp's autumn misery continues. Today they wasted a two-goal lead at home vs T-Ørn and an unlikely hat-trick hero, Cesilie Andreassen. She hadn't scored a Toppserien goal in two years. LSK carved out another win with a late long range free-kick goal by another unlikely goalscorer, Anja Sønstevold. Avaldsnes extended their run to six straight wins and face LSK next time. Probably the last chance to halt LSK's title winning bid.

Kristine Minde drops out of the NT squad after her hamstring injury in a Wolfsburg game last week. She's expected to be out for a month. West Ham's Cecilie Redisch Kvamme is brought in as replacement.

Elise Thorsnes heads back to Australia. She has signed for Canberra United for the next season. She also played there two years ago. The season "down under" is short, so she'll probably be back for the next Toppserien season anyway.

Just seems so strange that Synne Jensen is overlooked (replacing Minde would not be "like for like", I know). Is a personality thing? Or does she not want to play? Norway WNT has a history of players not wanting to play (for good reasons or not) nor invited to play! Besides Ada, her sister, Andrine ; Cecilie Pedersen ; Synne Jensen (current).
I guess this goes on with most teams but I am just more attuned to Norway since I follow them more closely. Of course, I follow the USA team to some extent and have seen a lot go on with USA, too. USA is often an issue (not a bad issue to have!) of too much talent and not enough NT spots available! Casey Short missed the last WWC and Crystal Dunn missing out in the past (both deserved to be picked, IMO).

This is big. The University of Tromsø will spend 4 million Euros on a four year long science project about Norwegian woso. Three different faculties will be involved in how to optimize woso in all areas. Improving club structure and players physically, mentally, tactically etc. So far, pretty much all science in football have been done for men, and then just "borrowed" by women. This project will be built up from scratch using women players only.

    1-0 Shscherbachenia 18
    1-1 Herlovsen 36
    1-2 Herlovsen 40
    1-3 Thorisdottir 45
    1-4 Reiten 60
    1-5 C.Hansen 71
    1-6 C.Hansen 89
    1-7 Utland 87

----------------------- Isabell Herlovsen --- Caroline Hansen

-------------- Guro Reiten -------------------------------- Karina Sævik

---------------------------- Vilde Bøe Risa -- Ingrid Engen

Ingrid Moe Wold -- Maria Thorisdottir -- Maren Mjelde -- Synne S. Hansen

    --------------------------------- Cecilie Fiskerstrand

    Substitutions
46 min - Amalie Eikeland for Karina Sævik
59 min - Frida Maanum for Vilde Bøe Risa
70 min - Lisa Marie Utland for Isabell Herlovsen

Comfortable win after a struggling start. Many of these weaker teams do quite well in the beginning when their fitness level allows them to stress and break up the possession based football, but as soon as they fade 5-10%, they fall apart. The quality difference between the teams became very clear as the game wore on.

Because of Kristine Minde's injury, Sjögren moved Ingrid Moe Wold from right to left-back in defence and opened up for Synne Hansen on the right. Ingrid Engen was back from start in midfield after her arm injury last time. Guro Reiten dropped back to the left wing and gave room for Isabell Herlovsen up front who returned after injury. Herlovsen's goals took her tally to 64 for Norway, equalling Linda Medalen, and only two behind Marianne Pettersen's Norway record on 66 goals. That record should be within reach for Herlovsen already on Tuesday against the Faroe Islands.

    Highlights to follow.

I love Reiten's trick goal. I missed it on the live coverage as I switched over to the Athletics World Championships in Doha for a short while.

    Nice one indeed. :geek:

Belarus managed to dream for about an half-hour, though. I didn't think they could have been able to lead for so long.
