Well. We'll find out in a few hours if we're all going to glow in the dark.. Japan has announced in that citizens in Hokkaido should go inside and, preferably, into basements as NK just launched missiles that appear to be targeting the city. #BREAKING: Japan says North Korea has launched a missile, warns people to seek shelter immediately.Message running on local TV: "North Korea appears to have launched a missile. Please evacuate to the inside of a building or go to the basement. Target area: Hokkaido" pic.twitter.com/66jDRqkJFU— Moshe Schwartz (@YWNReporter) October 3, 2022 South Korea things NK is just launching it over Japan, but.. Yeah....
Few hours.. Couple minutes.. South Korea was right. NK was shooting over Japan. UPDATE: Officials of Nemuro city, in the Hokkaido region of Japan: 'The previous missile passed through the Pacific at around 07:29. It seems to have passed. If you find anything suspicious, do not approach it. Please contact the police or fire department immediately.'— Moshe Schwartz (@YWNReporter) October 3, 2022
Well.. This isn't a good look.. In response to NK's ballistic missile test, the US and SK conducted their own test and fired off 4 missiles from a SK airbase... Unfortunately, only 3 of the missiles actually made it to their destination.. The 4th missile either detonated on the launcher, or did a return to sender. Regardless, SK base go boom. SK is saying there were no casualties in the accident. 🚨VIDEO: South Korea failed missile launchhttps://t.co/b7Aaje9oEV— Breaking News (@NewsJunkieBreak) October 4, 2022
For some reason, I find this hilarious: A usually reliable source tells me that the North Korean soldiers who have deployed to Russia have never had unfettered access to the internet before. As a result, they are gorging on pornography.— Gideon Rachman (@gideonrachman) November 5, 2024 If these guys go back to North Korea, they're never going to be able to re-assimilate. Which makes me think they're all going to be killed or put in camps if and when they go back.
The President's wife is being investigated after accepting a large amount of gifts from wealthy S. Koreans and the investigation was, reportedly, starting to focus on the President. The declaration of martial law is, allegedly, an attempt by the President to put a stop to that investigation to stop him and his wife from going to jail. Of course, with the Parliament voting to end martial law and the military withdrawing from their positions around then National Assembly has increased the odds of the President and his wife being arrested, but here we are. Also, it is worth noting that even tho the National Assembly has voted unanimously to end martial law, it is actually up to the President to end it. Since he knows he'd be impeached and removed from office if he did end martial law, there is little chance he'd do that.
Kinda? They withdrew the troops to reduce tensions as the troops were attracting more and more protestors and the protestors were getting violent. The troops are still in a ready stance, they are just no longer standing in front of the National Assembly.
It's been almost 40 years since they have been active in politics and ruling. I never seen it suggested they are eager to go back to that.
It looks like Yoon Suk Yeol is standing down. He has no political backing, even within his own party. This is going to be a great trivia question in a few years.
