Endrick should have stayed in Brazil a bit longer. Some players are being brought over far too early, which can stagnate their development. The issue with a loan is that he needs to join a team that, bluntly put, isn't too good—so he can actually start games—but also not so bad that they get battered every week, as he still needs opportunities to score.
He should. But thats too late for now. If Rodrygo goes (no pun intended) and Endrick gets loaned out, the team will have no backup 9.
How is that late? He's like 6 years younger than Vinicius. Teenage sensation players are one in a million, him being in Madrid just looks like a terrible idea to me. Skipping so much of the process
I mean he's already here. It depends if Rodrygo leaves and Endrick goes on loan, it pretty much means Madrid would need another backup striker.
I know. But I just can't see the club loaning him out just to bring someone in to be a backup striker. Might as well use him.
I will be pleasantly surprised if the team hasn't been totally deflated yet, unless Barca suddenly drops points.
I think the club has collectively waved the white flag. Negotiating severance packages and a new coach while putting guys in position to miss the rest of the season seems to point in that direction.
Wasting his time with us unfortunately. Better off going elsewhere but I would not love to see us just feel like he'll be replaced by Endrick and that's all they have to do.
Mutual waste of time. For him he's not playing his preferred position and he's not even second fiddle. For RM he's a waste of time this season since his value didn't go up and he didn't produce. Him or Vini should be sold unless Xabi is gonna start him as a 10 behind Vini and Mbappe.
If he goes, then the club will need to sign a backup striker. Just imagine losing Mbappe or Vini to injury for two or three months and it's another season down the drain due to a lack of bench options.
Last summer when it was suggested that the club would do well to sell high right there and then and reinvest in the more critical areas, people were like "have you got no soul, he did so much for the club, how can you be so detached, he is a dedicated Madridista" etc etc. For the hundredth time, he's an asset. But that asset is now worth less than a year ago. You can be a fan of Rodrygo just as I am, and still have a strategy thats in the club's interests first. Did we really need to make hundred percent certain that his potential is reached here? We have seen him for years, he is what he is. He has no future here, bring Mastantuono or Paz in his place and have them enter from the bench regularly.
I rate Mastantuono higher than Paz but the latter would no doubt come cheaper. What we save in transfer fee we can give a little more in wages so maybe that would keep him happy as a role player.
His father is his manager and he recently said they want to play, I think they'll stay away. Him opting to play for Argentina instead of Spain was also considered kind of a taking matters into his own hands moment.
Apparently Rodrygo is muy triste. I think this is it. Guler going full Sue Storm against Barcelona must have stung.
He’d probably balk at the idea but I really wish he was staying but with a role from the bench. IMO that would/should motivate him to regain form. No way anyone can justify him continuing to start next season with the numbers he has had.
Kind of sad to see the clubs mouthpiece press running a campaign against the players and he coach. No word about the complete mismanagement of the roster, or the catastrophe that was the referee situation. Zero accountability, just flexing the worst part of the clubs system.
Not surprising either, blame the coach, blame the players, blame the ref and by all means excuse the board for what everyone knew was a roster that was destined to fail.
There was an article going around about the basketball team dealing with the same issues. Several veterans leaving the game, losing pillars that helped on both ends of the floor (Yabusele for example), while going top heavy with multiple of the highest paid players in the sport and ignoring depth (Poirier was a key player last year, let go and replaced with Ibaka who could not help the team as much as the star name would suggest). Injuries to key defensive players like Gabriel Deck gave us the rest. Clearly the club headed in the wrong direction across all levels.
The stadium issues, the Mbappe signing dragging out year after year, the award ceremony snubs and super League nonsense... we football fans are kinda in a bubble because we're not really paying as much attention to all that stuff but it should raise some concerns. TBH the TV show shenanigans and the communication/pr narrative around CA and players bothers me a lot.
Be aware that people that report about the team internationally know what's going on. The club protesting the press conferences with players but wheeling Carlo out there week after week seems very intentional as well. Would we have "protested the press conference" if we would've won in Barcelona? I don't know.
That's the issue. The nihilism -- when we win it's amazeballs, when we lose it's a conspiracy. I hate it. Small club mentality and even worse when it's the club that has won more than anyone.
