Lol we have people who think we should spend huge amounts on players to be 3rd and 4th bench options yet every year we're talking about players who may want to leave because they aren't first option.

All this energy Rodrygo needs to put into his performances. I will say he wasn't bad against Betis. If he does the running and plays his defensive role and transitions into attack? He may just have his place in the trident.

    Apparently he did LOL

To be fair, some of the names on the list are super mid and honestly Rodrygo should probably be over them.

But he didn't have good enough of a season and Copa America to feel snubbed.

Make it three players for each position.

with the kind of bullshit players on this list, I can see why Rodrygo feels snubbed. I'm surprised they didn't sneak Messi in there. Why not scratch the balls of their favorite lad who won the Copa America?

Indeed, by what metric does Declan Rice make any list, based on what exactly......English and generally playing in the supposed bestest league, he's never won jack, and seeing how much they skew towards goalscorers over everyone else well, nothing much there either, just as well i never really cared much about this popularity contest

Even when Messi isn't on the list, the Messi mental illness is in full force I see.

Some players are clearly there through like one performance (Lookman), and others just hype. Maybe it’s just the lack of talent at the moment, something we discussed on here a while ago

He didn't deserve to get snubbed and much of the criticism towards him of late has been unwarranted.

I think there's also a response element to his statements and attitude.

What about his attitude deserves a "response"?

I do see why he feels snubbed too for the reasons you stated.

But there are 6 Real Madrid players on the list, excluding Mbappe. That's 1/5 of the list. It is already a list dominated by Real Madrid. By comparison, Spain only has 5 players, and Leverkusen 3. For political reasons, they are not going to increase more Real Madrid players on the list.

And if this is the Real Madrid Player of the Year award, I would rank Bellingham, VJ, Rudiger, Kroos, Dani, Fede, Nachos, Lunin or even Modric ahead of him.

Agreed, IMO no Arsenal player deserves to be on that list, none.

Please define " get on fire" what does that entail, what is required, 20 goals a season, 30?, even before Kylian was here and even moreso now, there's only one ball, these kind of numbers for 3 and 4 players on the same team won't happen, even BBC couldn't pull that off nor could the supposedly legendary MSN, can't recall it ever happening in recent times, that's the reality of it,

Although no one else seems to think so i believe for what he has contributed the last two seasons he more than warrants his place, especially as he has had to adapt to playing out of position on the right, the bar is ridiculously high for him for some reason, it seems he's expected to achieve things many others could not even though he has been an important part of this team winning trophies already, just....strange, people make him seem like Mariano or Eden, he's not them, he's better and has shown it

I suppose it's kind of unfortunate for him that, Vin, Kylian and Jude are also on this team, I don't see 4 players getting over 20 goals especially if Jude continues to be more of a front 4 than a midfield 3, but the idea that he hasn't contributed as yet/ been a decisive player for us........ is odd

I would ask him if he feels like he deserves it more than Rüdiger and Valverde for starters.

7 current/past Real Madrid players. Rodrygo isn't anywhere near being the world's best at any point of the year, just because others made the list that aren't either doesn't matter to me. If you attack it to his statements about moving away from the club and his situation, his idea that he's in the discussion as the world's best player is revealing.

Let's say Guler starts ahead of him. How does somebody that believes he's best player in the world material handle it?

Well it may not matter to you, but you are a fan, he is a player, so it may matter to him that he's not even in the conversation if players like the Arsenal lot are in the conversation despite not achieving jack, and no, 2nd place in the EPL is not a thing except to the hype people

As for his statements about leaving the club, where are they, i have not seen any of them, i have seen people infer from things that he's said that that's what he means but well...... that's something totally different isn't it, people gotta talk about something

I highly doubt Rodrygo believes he's the best player in the world.....

I'll add, many players on that list are also nowhere close to being "the wold's best at any point of the year" but they made the list.........

He voiced his displeasure about not being in the running to be. It's irrelevant how much you write. It's blatantly obvious that Rodrygo is trying to get attention, be it now, or wit his Manchester City comments. It's pretty obvious he feels overlooked.

It's irrelevant how much i write?, maybe i can say the same for you, he voiced his displeasure at not being in the conversation, whether he feels overlooked or not i totally agree with him when i take into consideration some of the names on that list, you generally think he should shut up,
    This
applies to quite a few players "in the conversation" but..... it's Rodrygo, he once said City plays good football so that's a problem apparently, although no one here ever wants us to face them for some reason..... meh

PS i'm waiting for the statement where he said he wants to leave,

Rodrygo can go to Man City, play his preferred position and probably be a guaranteed starter. But his decision to stick it out with his dream team sees him quite frequently undervalued. I would not want Real Madrid's biggest rival (in continental play) land a vengeful Rodrygo. The dude is the clutchest player in the squad and was carrying madrid. especially when Vini wasn't available.
